Hello,
What would be the requirement for a VB4 Suite Cloud server?
I have usually 50 simultaneous users with peaks around 200.
Thanks
Ludo
Ludo, It is a bit difficult to asses based on this information. However what you could do is port the application on a cloud environment, use it for a few hours to test the load, upgrade/downgrade to get the right resource balance and you will have your answer. This way your financial commitment is low - only for the period of use.
Hope it helps. :)

completely agree with sam9. but before you do this i would talk to the hosting company and tell them what you plan to do. and while this is a great idea, you cannot forget, if you want your forum to grow, that you have to leave room for everything to grow. you dont want to limit yourself too much in what you buy as your hosting package. if you do do this, you may be screwing yourself. so be sure to get the package that you need but also leave room for improvement.
good luck to finding you hosting solution.

I'd venture to say Cirrocumulus might be the right size. They are small and don't seem to really cause any problems.

I would recommend going for separate web and database instances, without a control panel to conserve performance. :)

Hi,
I do not understand the question... are you asking how many resources do you need on a virtual instance hosted on a cloud or you just need some kind of general estimate what kind of solution to use and which cloud hosting provider to contact. I would go to any of the popular cloud hosting provider and to ask them for a test account for a week... or if they provide a money back, then you'd sign up. It should be risk free. As you know when you are on the cloud you should be able to assign as many resources as you need.
