For some reason it lists a .com with a period of 1 year with oneandone whereas 123reg is 2, so its sort of like compairing apples with bananas?

It shows the minimum amount you have to pay for one retail domain registration. You can only register .com's for a minimum of two years with 123reg, so it shows the total price you have to pay to 123reg for that one .com domain you want.

Makes sense to me.

so in other words its totally useless...
