Right i've ran into this problem.

Im trying to move clients one by one over to the new server (Done DNS TTL ect)

I've logged into the new server selected mvoe account with account password.

Got to,

Entered all the right information for the account

Hit transfer.

Attempting to copy workfami from servint.rackservint.com

Trying to fetch cpmove file via cPanel XML-API!

Stays stuck at that...

Cant figure out what though

anyone else experience this issue before?

Just noticed this on the reseller,

Load Averages: 1.56 1.58 1.16

Could the high load on the old server be causing massive ammounts of lag?

its changed now to;

Trying to fetch cpmove file via cPanel XML-API!
Fetching current backups from remote server......0 backups found...Done
Starting the backup...Done
Waiting for backup to start...Done

But its slow... like REALLY slow....

UPDATE:

Checking remote server for backups.....0 backups found.
Failed to start the backup on the remote machine (if a previous backup is in progress you will need to wait until it is complete)!
(Trace information follows for backup start request).../xml-api/cpanel?xmlin=<cpanelaction><apiversion>1</apiversion><module>Fileman</module><func>fullbackup</func></cpanelaction>

(Trace information follows for initial backups)...

(Trace information follows for backups after request started)...

Failed to fetch cpmove file via cPanel XML-API.
Trying to fetch cpmove file via ftp+cgi!

P.S: No current backup is running!

Update 2:

Have you tried creating an account backup then copying it over that way, without using the xml-api?

No, they have no affiliation with ServInt whatsoever.

:o Naughty hosting company!

Apparently rackservint.com is owned by rack0 -- meaning they have nothing to do with you or us.

Here's something that might make you guys chuckle.

I opened a ticket with Rack0 about this issue with transfering, Each quotation box represents a reply.

From me

Ok this is kind of annoying.

Im trying to transfer accounts away from your server using my other servers

Copy an account from another server with account password

Now i enter all the right information but amazingly... it gets stuck?

for instance,

Attempting to copy workfami from workfamilycommunity.org

Trying to fetch cpmove file via cPanel XML-API!

Doesnt change from this.

Any reason why it wont?

Well if there's nothing wrong on our end for the transfer, The passwords are correct, but it doesnt transfer which only leaves a problem on your end or something is disabled.

But replying to the ticket basicly saying nothing you can do with no information about why it would do this made me chuckle -.-

Somethings just come to our attencion aswell.

According to your website you do free site transfers

FREE Site Transfer We know how difficult it can be switching hosting companies. That is why we make it stress free by handling the entire process for you. This doesnt say that you will only help us move our sites to YOU, So you do say you will help with transfers.

Also

"24/7 Technical Support Our in-house staff is the best in the industry, and is ready to assist you no matter what time or day of the year it is."

You are the best in the industry, so it certainly can't be because you don't know HOW to do it.

There is no further clarification in your Terms of Services: http://www.rack0.com/terms.html either

I do see the problem in this... this is just a half ass company trying to make money and not allow people to switch servers... this is begging for a lawsuit if they do not comply with the support they offer.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback, however, it was not needed. Your response contributed nothing to this thread.

We are in no way stopping anyone from moving account(s) from our servers.

If anyone has any questions, please do feel free to contact me.

cPanel is notoriously bad for transfers, i wouldn't blame this completely on the hosting company. Here's what you can do though:

Go into each account (if you have access), and download a full backup.

Upload the full backup to your server, if you have root access. If not, create the account, then choose 'restore from full backup' in the account.

I'm not saying the provider isn't blameless here (it could easily be a firewall issue, among other things, and they SHOULD try to help their paying customers), but cPanel can be just as bad with transfers.
