I'm quite disturbed by some of the thread comments in this forum.
I signed up for a Paysystems IBA (?) account a little while back. I haven't used it yet - I'm still in the process of finishing the web site that will use it.
Are they a dead duck, now? Should I stick with'em? What are the (serious) alternatives currently (I see 2checkout is getting panned too).

Once, paysystems must see on your site their links, yes.
Alternatives, ematic.com possible

There's a major transition period right now for all third party processors. Everyone's scrambling to comply with the new VISA regulations, patriot act, etc.. If you can, give it a couple weeks for things to cool down and then take a serious look at whether or not you'd like to use them on a permanent basis.
We use 2Checkout for all non-Canadian online business. They've been great as I'm sure you'll find paysystems to be once you're settled in and have established a means of getting your money :)
Sincerely,

20) I've been in business for less than a year and/or my company is not incorporated or limited. Can I still get a PaySystems merchant account?
Yes. PaySystems accepts 100% of all merchants applying subject to our guidelines.

I urge you to use paysystems.com if you get tired of being ignored of technical representatives of same level payment services.
If you do not have a business licence I will recommend you to get one to get the opportunuties to sell freely without any doubts.
We are working with them for 2 years. We didnt even consider to change to verisign or authorize.net
