I m going to host my website which server should i select

Windows or linux and which one why?

It really depends on what you are doing. If you are doing lots of things in ASP, using VBScript, SQL 2000, etc, etc, you will want to go with a Windows machine. However, if you're doing more PHP, Java, or Static development using MySQL, Postgre, I would go with a *nix variant.

I'm of the opinion that both are good if setup properly. But I personally run FreeBSD 4.7 on both of my servers. They both can handle quite a bit of traffic, and I'm about to see a spike to about 500GB to 1TB per month.

Stable, hmm... stable... hmm... stable and stuff :laugh:. But really, if you know your way about linux use it ;)

Yeah... I would def. go with a *nix variation becuase they are stable and use ram more effeciently.
