Hi I’m new to this board but certainly need some good advise. I have a site www.thesea.org it’s about 200 megs or more and Uses about 7g in bandwidth a month (or more)
I currently use http://www.activehost.com host, but even with my 40 dollar monthly fee, I’m limited to 3G transfer a month. I am being fined $10 a month for each Gig over 5 in usage, so right Now I’m shelling out about $60 a month. The service has always been good and very little downtime in the 1.5 years I had been with them.
I am in need of a good hosting NT host package, my site uses .asp pretty heavy. A friend doing some programming for me recommended a company named 121 host http://www.121host.net/ which for $15 a month gives me 300 mg and 6g bandwidth. I am preparing a second release of my site and getting near a point where I am going to migrate. The reason for my concern is my a HD crashed today at 9:20 am EST, and nearly 14 hours later I still don’t even have ftp access to upload my site.
Due to my lack of experience with host, I’m not sure if this is typical or not. Something this drastic had never happened with Activehost, and I would stay with them if it were not for the pricing.
I know 121 host is out of the US but has rents servers in the US. I am wondering are they giving too much away for the money, or are they inline and Active host is out of line.
Any insight or good hosting plans will be appreciated
