Of the ones I've used (most are proprietary I'm afraid) simplescripts.com is the one more to my liking. When it comes to installers, I think that quick updates after new software releases is the most important thing (which is why Fantastico loses).

But, I'm a customer, not a host. For a host there may me other factors that are more important. :)

I only know and have been using Fantastico for years. It's just great and simple for me to setup such scripts (like: Drupal, Joomla or Wordpress)
So I (as a customer) voted for Fantastico.

I've heard many good things about Installatron, but don't have any experience with it. Fantastico is more the "standard" choice out there since it's more popular.

Fantastico is the most known because it has been around the longest. This does not mean it is the best, by any means.

Fantastico takes AGES to update the scripts and that causes users to perform installations of scripts that have security issues.

With that said, Installatron is by far my favorite.

softcalous is up and rising. Something to look out for. They offer much more scripts. Fantastico is great, but they don't improve fast enough.

I've yet to try out softaculous but I heard good things. Currently I like installatron a lot better than fantastico. Moved away to installatron a while back and I don't regret it at all.

We have recently moved to softacuolus from fantastico.
Softacuolus is simply superb and has around 136 scripts ready to install in one click

The price is also low when compared to other installers.

Comparison with other script installers (http://www.softaculous.com/compare)

We are also reselling softaculous and i must say is spectacular.

It downloads the files before they are needed and it updates the files versions very often.

Some installations take one or two seconds.
I was able to install magento or sugarcrm in same clicks as well.

I had lots of issues with joomla instalattions from fantastico and i think that softacoluus is working better.
Fantastico instalattions used to be old and sometimes to install a program with fantastico you must install it and the patch loosing the upgrade path.

I love Softaculous. They are very active in adding scripts and they are willing to take valuable suggestions. Fantastico does not even want to hear us when we request them to add some scripts. If Fantastico continues to be this way, they will soon be removed from the industry. I think being the first got in their heads and the fact that large datacenters such as burst, hostgator etc are using them, they don't want to hear comments or suggestions from individuals. They are very hard to reach and not accomodating. This is what I don't like about hostgator because they use Fantastico. I have asked them to consider using Softaculous but they don't want to switch. I really hate Fantastico.

Softaculous rocks!

+1 for installatron. I like how it grabs the scripts from the vendors not some non-updated internal server like fantastico does

We moved to Softaculous too. 138 scripts now :-)

No more load problem during update unlike fantastico.

Installatron is great and it allows you to backup and restore your scripts easily, which I believe is not achievable with Softaculous.
