View Full Version : WHM skins?
Diana Lucizs 12-01-2002, 05:56 PM I'am new to all this, and looking at WHM options and I see that there is few free WHM skins. Do you recommmend those few free WHM skins?
Do they make any trouble, or everything is just fine - completely normal?
Thanks
I use Xskin for both WHM and Cpanel and I haven't had any problems yet.
Esr Tek 12-01-2002, 06:49 PM Same... I luv Xskin.. but i keep my clients on Iconic or default to bypass any issues shall they ever arise.
phpcoder 12-01-2002, 07:11 PM I thought my servers were all acting up when I upgraded CPanel. You need to remember to update your skins a day or so after you upgrade CPanel/WHM :)
Diana Lucizs 12-02-2002, 06:03 AM How do I install Xskin theme?
I went to WHM>Theme>Addon WHM Themes and choosed Xskin and "Install and Keep Updated".
Process complete... says.
But nothing changed, I closed by browser and started again login to WHM everything stays the same.
BTW, there is no log off function in WHM ?

Logs off when you close all the browser windows.
xskin is indeed very nice. It does take them a while to update, so we have reverted to updating them on our own.
:: paVel :: 12-02-2002, 08:59 AM Use xSkin for WHM/cPanel and have no problems:)

It still doesn't work, I've tried to login 2 hours later it still stays the same.
In WHM>Theme>Addon WHM Themes it still stays marked "Install and Keep Updated".
But WHM theme stays the old one.
What do I need to do to make this work?
Under "Themes" have you used "Change WHM Theme "?

Nope, now I did, and yes now it is working :) thanks!
What is then that "Addon WHM Themes " ?
DangerMouse 12-03-2002, 06:09 AM You have to add a theme before you can use it.
I know this thread is a little old, but I just wanted to clarify; we update Xskin every 3 to 4 weeks or so. Lately, it has been taking a long time for the cPanel staff to add the skin to WHM. I guess they are busy with other projects.
However, you can always download the latest version of the Xskins by going to our website:

realalien 12-16-2002, 07:28 PM what is the PI at the bottom? an easteregg? scripts2/hiddenroom ... sounds very matrix like... but... hummm pls tell me what it is
mshowman 12-16-2002, 09:06 PM Probably has something to do with the movie "The Net". In the movie, the PI symbol on a web page was a link to the backdoor through the firewall software the bad guys created :)
That is exactly what it is ;)
Does anybody know if Xskin supports language files for cpanel or whm? If so, where are this language files located?
I saw on Xskin's site a language update on whm skin, so i asume that maybe this is a feature of Xskin.
Regards
Language files are supported in WHM X if used with other cPanel skins. At present cPanel X only supports English.
Thanks for your answer bert. Any chance language support would be implemented in a future version? If so, how much time will that be?
How can i translate cpanel X without a language file? Do i have to edit all html files?
Well, if you plan to implement language support in the future i can help translating it into spanish.
Regards!
Hi,
I don't know if this functionality will be available with Xskin in the future. There is already a gentleman working on a translation of Xskin. I think this should be available within the next two months.
If you want to translate it yourself, you would indeed have to modify every single html file.
The translation that you are talking about is a spanish translation?
More less, how many files would i have to translate? :D
Regards
Yes, it is in spanish.
I don't really know how many files there are. I have not counted them :D
realalien 12-17-2002, 03:18 AM right the net... not matrix... well... if you look at the html code it brings you to a hiddenroom page with a form... just want to be sure it is not a backdoor... any idea? even if i have checked the html code i'm unable to find the script launched on the server... its somehow... hidden.
