View Full Version : Need a reliable hosting with no overselling feature.
babygekko 03-04-2010, 01:54 AM I'm shopping around for a very reliable hosting that doesn't do overselling. If someone has had a good experience with the hoster for over 2 years, I might be interested. Must be CPanel.
Spec:
* Space: 16Gb
* Data Transfer: 160Gb
I'm currently paying $230, with 2 additional dedicated IPs
I have about 20 main domains with around 30 additional domains.
Thanks in advance.
$230 per year? try VPS hosting if you want a dedicated hosting.
babygekko 03-04-2010, 02:06 AM I don't need VPS just reseller it's fine.
yculer 03-04-2010, 03:44 AM Take a look at ihubnet.com
bentink 03-04-2010, 04:14 AM I don't need VPS just reseller it's fine.
At that price you would get a VPS which is much better than reseller hosting.
You wont probably get any reseller hosting that is not oversold.
babygekko 03-04-2010, 04:29 AM It has to be in North America (US/Canada) with North American tech support and phone number.
MyLabuan 03-04-2010, 07:37 AM Spec:
* Space: 16Gb
* Data Transfer: 160Gb
A lot provider can offer you this kind of spec, try search at offer section or google..:D
agustan 03-04-2010, 08:23 AM I've seen on other threads before and they mentioned about HostGator, and you can't oversell with their reseller hosting account.
Have you checked on HostGator site (reseller packages)? Maybe 1 of their reseller packages suits to your needs?
Vinayak_Sharma 03-04-2010, 10:12 AM On a shared hosting, there is going to be some sort of overselling, whether space/bandwidth or CPU/RAM resources.
And with those rates (if $230 a year for 16Gb space) I am sure overselling will be there.
What you should look for is a company that has the track record, in terms of server performance and support, you are looking for.
ldcdc 03-04-2010, 10:25 AM I've seen on other threads before and they mentioned about HostGator, and you can't oversell with their reseller hosting account.
It doesn't mean that they don't oversell themselves. For a bigger company it generally makes no sense not to oversell (it would lead to a huge waste, worth many thousands of dollars), unless they have some sort of moral principle that prevents them from doing to (in which case it will be the customer who'll be paying the price).
In any case, it is a bit unclear to me if the OP doesn't want to have the overselling feature enabled, or actually wants the host to not oversell.
If the first, there might be options. If the second, the search may be long and hard, and most importantly, without any sort of reassurance. You can't verify if a host oversells or not. If it oversells wisely, you'll never know the difference. :)
khulet22 03-04-2010, 11:19 AM In that price you would get a VPS that is better than reseller hosting.
There is a big opportunity to have the great VRS with your offer. Good Luck
YDGH-Corey 03-04-2010, 12:40 PM In that price range you could buy two or three dedicated servers. Get off your high horse and go with a reliable company that oversells.

I strongly feel that he is referring the $230 as a yearly price. If he is referring so, even one dedicated server won't be possible.

In that case, it's obvious that he can't afford a dedicated server at $19/mo. That's besides the point, like I said, he needs to get off his high horse and find a reliable hosting company.

I don't have any disagreement with that point. :)

You may want to try HOSTGATOR.COM !

lol, when did HG stopped overselling?
YDGH-Wayne 03-05-2010, 04:35 PM Hostgator does not allow overselling.
Use to get lots of good reviews.... I have not seen very good reviews on them lately though...
Vinayak_Sharma 03-05-2010, 05:11 PM Hostgator does not allow overselling.
Well that does not mean that they themselves do not oversell.
And OP is looking for reliable hosting that doesn't do overselling.
HighLayer 03-05-2010, 05:55 PM To the OP, is your budget 240$/year or per month?
Ryan - HostATree 03-05-2010, 11:55 PM Lots of hosts would meet this non overselling requirement you have, just dont look at those hosts that offer "500gb space, 5000gb bandwidth" type plans as it would be a waste of time.
Take a look around the offers section, you'll probably find a few good hosts in there you like.

Right in which case a good vps managed is a good bet.
babygekko 03-09-2010, 10:52 PM Looking for around $240/year.
To the OP, is your budget 240$/year or per month?
energizedit 03-09-2010, 11:26 PM You should look at site5 their reseller packages don't allow overselling either and they are well within your price range.
Vinayak_Sharma 03-09-2010, 11:33 PM At that rate and the specs you want, you yourself are asking for oversold account.
JixHost 03-09-2010, 11:38 PM Id suggest HostGator. They do not allow overselling.
Vinayak_Sharma 03-10-2010, 12:04 AM Id suggest HostGator. They do not allow overselling.
OP is asking for reliable hosting that doesn't do overselling, not that does not allow that.

Yes, I know...which is why I suggested HostGator.
Vinayak_Sharma 03-10-2010, 12:43 AM Yes, I know...which is why I suggested HostGator.
And you think HG does not oversell, or is that a sarcasm?
JixHost 03-10-2010, 12:46 AM And you think HG does not oversell, or is that a sarcasm?
HostGators' plans do not allow overselling. You can not sell more then the plan you choose.
yajur 03-10-2010, 04:06 AM in there reseller plan we cant but in there shared plan they oversell it
HostXNow 03-10-2010, 05:01 AM Shouldn't have a hard time finding a host that doesn't allow overselling. They are loads of them. You can try Google. Also, check out the Advertising Forums : Web Hosting Offers : Reseller Hosting Offers section of this forum.
