That's not good! I wonder how secure there control panel is if they're main site got taken over?
bentink 03-02-2010, 09:32 PM Well it might also be that their sit got hacked from somewhere else, not from their script.
Moved > Hosting Software and Control Panels.
PogiWeb 03-02-2010, 09:53 PM Well it might also be that their sit got hacked from somewhere else, not from their script.
So where is the downloadable script that they provide to their clients located? If the mainsite got hacked this could be very much a security issue if any new clients download WHMAP.
linux-tech 03-02-2010, 10:21 PM Woops, guess you shoulda kept that site secure, huh? :P
Then again, this isn't so much a 'hack' as a defacement. It could have been password based, script based, etc. All we know is that some kid got in and took over their webpage. Hopefully it'll feel better tomorrow.
This does shine a pretty big light on their security practices, though. IIRC, this isn't the first time this has happened, no?
qualityhostings 03-02-2010, 11:47 PM Lol, they still haven't noticed it and removed the hacker's page
Visbits 03-02-2010, 11:48 PM Yeah its crazy!
qualityhostings 03-02-2010, 11:49 PM Hmm I just sent them an email notifying this.
EZ-CONCEPT 03-03-2010, 01:04 AM I will never use their products lol, anyway, I just want to ask is the HTTPD / http root got hacked or the hackers got full access ( root )to their server??
Visbits 03-03-2010, 01:13 AM they more than likely got rooted, could be the reason for taking so long to fix it. I'm a fan of WHMCS/Custom automation
The site doesn't load at all for me right now, so it might be fairly serious, assuming that's why. It eventually gives this error:
Error[3733X]: Invalid API fingerprint...xxxexiting
qualityhostings 03-03-2010, 10:01 AM Same here. Seems like they have got some serious issues

linux-tech 03-03-2010, 12:42 PM Same here. Seems like they have got some serious issues
Or it's taking a bit longer than usual to clean up the mess. At least they got rid of the 'we were hax0red' message
Visbits 03-03-2010, 12:43 PM If you google that hacking teams name there are about 40,000 sites that they have defaced pretty badly.
I'm a fan of WHMCS/Custom automation
and what does that have to do with this thread?!
Visbits 03-03-2010, 05:10 PM and what does that have to do with this thread?!
What does your comment have to do with this thread?? I created it, another person mentioned they were not a fan of the whmap software.. :o

no they said they were a fan of whmcs / automation which makes no sense.

I said that.. you're confused or something.
BTW the forum in your signature is broken.

not confused at all - your posting about whm auto pilot being hacked and then saying your a fan of whmcs / automation which has no bearing on why whm auto pilot was hacked or why its taking so long to fix. Its just a strange comment to make.
Thanks for the signature tip, I had removed the link but not the text :-)
Sandino 03-03-2010, 05:35 PM In most cases, a website getting hacked has nothing to do with their software security.
rhsadmin 03-04-2010, 11:05 PM It looks like the website is finally online again.
As I previously mentioned before we are still waiting for a software update that was mentioned one year ago.
Has anybody heard anything regarding updates with the software?
lonea 03-05-2010, 12:18 AM Their forum is still down..

Disrelation 03-05-2010, 01:18 AM Yikes, that's pretty bad if their website has been hacked... If their website security is as poor as their software security, I think I'll take a rain check.
Bloory 03-08-2010, 04:22 PM The forums have been at www.whmautopilot.com/forums/ for ages now.
Updates were promised, but mostly seem to fix cPanel/Paypal/etc changes and add small additional functionality
Dr_Michael 02-04-2011, 07:45 AM Their site is not working again?
Looks like his hosting domain is falling over: fireflyhost.com (Expiration Date: 05-feb-2011, owned by him).
Since WHMAP uses it's nameservers, it's down as well.

You are right! That means they will never be up again?
Is it only my own autopilot that is not working or it happened to everybody?
I wouldn't go as far as to say that. More likely it's a temporary thing, maybe installing something to the server or moving to a new one or something. Hard to say just from a lookup.
Dr_Michael 02-04-2011, 10:12 AM Is anybody else here using whmautopilot? Are you able to login?
