Hi,

just wanted to ask about your 2 cents on this issue:

my server recently crashes on a -nearly- daily basis, but the logs simply get cut off.
The last time it was really weird:

...
Nov 30 12:47:04Nov 30 12:50:32 syslogd restart
...

so, the last error wasn't even recorded to the end!
I just haven't seen that before.
Could this be hardware related?

Thanks,
Duncan

Had an odd problem like this when I upgraded the one server to Webmin 1.30 Crashes for no know reason. Down-graded it and never had that server crash again.

There could be MANY reasons why its crashing, hardware, software, could be compromised.. many reasons..

What you should do is scan through the logs for other times it has crashed and see what the error is..

It also could be a program using up so much resources that it causes the server to crash, that happened to me a few weeks ago with apache..

Could it be something wrong with the new version or upgrade.

I had a server do this on me. Turned out to be a kernel bug. check and make sure your kernel is up to date.
