Do they use a 3rd party merchant processor like Paysystems, 2Checkout etc.? If so, I would contact them and explain the situation. If that doesn't work and after emailing Totally Hosted, I would contact your credit card company to dispute the charge.

I would contact the attorney General.

It seems like there has been a lot of complaints for this guy. And yes they do investigate.

Its really obvious to me now that Samuel Barr is either the person on the this planet with the WORST luck or he is a cheat. I want out of this myself. I don't care anymore about the money, I just want my domains.

Not to belittle your problem, and this is bad, but... am I missing something? Is this entire thread over $10?

I've been screwed out of THOUSANDS of dollars by users on these forums. I haven't posted any complaints. (I guess I did bitch about the MyVirtualNet guy in a thread a little... but it was a response. :) )

I hope you get your $10 back.

Aaron

HI!
I need you to do this immediately. I need you to cancel your credit card. Call them and ask them to stop taking charge from other. Yep, taht mean you would have to get a new one. You must do it because for all I know is that next week they might charge you another 10 dollars.
Since I am really poor, 10 dollars is important.

Next time, change to an expiry date that does not match the one on your credit card before cancelling webhost services.

To Aaron and others who don't SEEM to GET his point. It's NOT about $10 It is about the Principal. Taking Money on someone's Card despite the amout ($10 or $1000 or whatever) is WRONG. If "someone" got SCREWED of 1000's of Dollars then that "someone" has done something about it instead of being Sarcastic to the fellow victom who's been SCREWED for Less Money.

Hehe, just to add to this thread!

I've just come online to find an email from Barr saying that he needs the password to my account at RegisterFly in order to push my domain name to me, after I gave him very clear instructions that stated he just had to email RegisterFly and ask them to push the domain. (RegisterFly said that Barr would need access to my account password to push it himself - no way am I doing that!)

I'm going to cancel my account with them this month. I'm about to set up a new account with Eryxma, but it's not exactly helpful until I get hold of that domain name!

Total Waste, have you signed up with Eryxma yet?

Tk.

P.S. Thanx for the expiry date tip - whoever that was!

I was trying very hard not to be sarcastic and not to belittle your problem at all. It's just my opinion that there are better things to put your energy into.

And, by the way, I have yet to recover ANY of the money I was scammed out of by people on this board.

I haven't signed up yet. I want to but I am VERY short on funds. I plan to shortly. Thanks to me spending my webhosting budget at Totally Hosted, I have to save up again.

$10 here. $20 here. $15 there. It all adds up. If he just skimps a little bit here and there, then it generally goes unnoticed. But eventually he will have thousands of dollars. Tens of thousands. It adds up.

You know at this rate I should start a Victims of Totally Hosted Support group!

Hi,
I don't really know where to begin and most definitely want to say a few things, the only thing is when you speak on this forum you either get flamed or whatever you said is held against you forever.

But here goes......

First of all tantawi last night I received your rather pleasant sweary email that I had charged you again although you did cancel and I do confirm that you did cancel. I immediately went into my merchant control panel and refunded the amount I had charged you. It can take up to 72 hours for the system to fully have the refund onto your credit card. I apologise that I charged you again and unfortunately I hadn't removed your recurring billing record from our merchant - I have completed this now.

I really want to stress and make this clear, I am not out to scam anyone or to steal any money from anyone. Yes I have made stupid mistakes and complete idiotic errors in judgement and for that I am sorry, my main problem was that when I had an idea I wouldn't take the time to plan it and would jump straight in head first. As any human being I have learned from my mistakes and I am using all of my time (and money) to correct the mistakes I did.

As you all know the reputation on this board that Totally Hosted has is terrible and that affects business; my main aim and plan is to turn that around to show the people here and everywhere that I can run my business professionally and that I am responsible and very trustworthy.

True the above are only words but actions will be taken.

Thanks for the time!

Sam,

I want to believe your just a guy who had bad luck. Put please give us some more details. I am not blaming you for things that were out of your control. But please try to see this from my (and our) positions. The service was down and you vanished for a week. You didn't even keep us updated on the forum. Perhaps you were busy, but I would rather wait an extra hour for the service to be up and KNOW that you haven't vanished with everyone's money and domains.

So please tell us everything that happened.

One...two...three strikes you're out at the old ballgame....It's just we've heard this song and dance from you so many times before, so pardon us if we aren't buying it at this point.

Actually I'm getting tired of seeing posts about your web hosting business, followed by your hard luck posts. Either clean it up or get out of the business!!! Trustworthy? Why do people still complain about refunds? We thought you were going to clean up your act a couple of months ago.

i believe ive got to go with everyone else on your last post Sam, this just doesn't look good.

you need to answer all the questions that are on people's minds and regain their trust. I just hope theres a logical explanation for all of this.. but it doesn't look good

How about you use some of your time and money and finally give us a refund for the $215 you still owe us. Feel free to PM me because despite the fact that you claim you are trying to make good on your debts, you have totally and completely failed to contact us in any way, shape, or form to let us know when we should expect a refund.

Hello,
Its never easy to start an apology post and I have made a few already but simply writting I am sorry isn't enough. When I started Totally Hosted I went in blind and although I may have had the technical knowledge to run the business I didn't have the business knowledge on maitaining a business and thats where I made a massive mistake.

It may have been that I didn't refund peoples money or that my service was down for lengthly periods of time and I now thats no way to run a business.

I want to clear my name and show people that it was business decisions I made, not to intentionally "con" people out of their money. So the main reason for this post is to say I am sorry and that I agree people are entiiled to their money back.

The Plan
Now that I have closed Totally Hosted I need to get some employment to enable me to pay back those people who didn't get their money back who where owed it.

I intend to pay each and everyone of those people. true it might take me a while but I will do it.

If I owe you money please email me at samuel@totallyhosted.net along with how much I owe, which service you purchased. I really know who the people are I owe money to but I would just like to get a collection of emails together so I can calculate exactly how much I owe and how long (depending on what my new job's salary is) it wil take me to pay people back.

At the moment I do have a job lined up but due to the posts on the board this has put a small halt on that job. Hopefully as poeple accept my apology the new job wll come through and I can start with repaying people.

I do stress, please do not post your comments to me here on this board but direct any communication to me at samuel@totallyhosted.net.

Thanks for taking the time to read the post.

Thanks!

You are such a joker Mr Barr! I can feel another con job coming up!! what are you going to call it this time? ..how'sabout

"supertotallyhostedalwaysconnectedeshoreveryhonest.com?

I have a better idea, why don't we all post here what you owe us and when you pay up we will post that here aswell that way everyone can see how 'honest' you are.

I have fallen for that write to me directly trick before and I am still waiting for my money. In my case it's not that much, only $150.00 so when you pay up I'll come back here and say that you have.
