Can you really do that much with a message board? I mean, you could do something like yaXay, but I mean, I'd rather keep it plain and simple. yaXay makes me go cross eyed.

Forums shoudln't be about what it looks like (though it can't look horrible either) but the information it has.

IMO it's perfectly fine the way it is aside from random tower ads coming up and moving everything down 500 pixels.

I'd like to see a change, doesn't have to be anything drastic, but something as simple as getting a new logo or new post buttons.

Yes, WHT looks fine the way it does now, but surely there is room for improvement.

I like the current design, but maybe something festive could be added to it whilst we're in holiday season/mode. That would be nice. I'd be willing to contribute if Headsurfer was willing.

It's pretty hard trying to create a low-end 'graphical' theme whilst trying to preserve bandwidth.

Anyways, WHT serves it's purpose. Remember, form and functionality over fanciness. ;)

Btw, I agree that WHT needs a new logo... The current logo looks like one of my works that I did 6 years ago. :eek:

CSS. Its easily taken care of. An entire site can be written once, but through CSS can be viewed by many different people. 56k'ers, broadbanders, cell phone users, PDA web browsers, and of course, hard copy. I don't see any reason why WHT doesn't look into this at all.

doesn't make much sense to go and redesign WHT now after rackshack has sunk so much money in the current identity.

Especially if there are willing forum members who'll contribute just to see WHT prosper. This forum may have become a business, but it's still retains it's original purpose.

And if not a new logo nor theme, then possibly offer color variations of the current theme. Then members could select which colored theme they desire according to their preferences.

(I like blue but wouldn't mind dark green :))

I agree. yaXay is a design forums, that just might be the reason their forum design is so eyecatchingly overwelming ;)

I agree. I can't stand those VB hacks with too much eye candy. Keep it simple and fast loading. We're here for interaction and the occassional flaming ;) not to look at eye candy.

You may contact Headsurfer, however ads have been run with this design, so I wouldn't expect a change.

i dont see anything wrong with maybe having a couple of themes that the users can choose from . Ive seen this on several other vb forums .

Well, I'm all for a new header for the seasons, special events, etc. Or the being able to choose a theme idea as well...
