Hey all,
I have about a dozen domains with Enom that all came from the mess that was Registerfly.com. Somewhere around mid-December last year I started getting emails about my account being moved to bulkregister.com. This seems to have been done in January of this year. When my account was moved to bulkregister.com they set all of my domain name to auto-renew and they auto-signed me up for their premium membership. This was completely unacceptable to me and so I changed all of my domains to not auto-renew and replied to the premium membership email and told them I didn't want that.
Since then, they've tried to charge my card three times without my authorization. Twice to auto-renew two different names that are both set to NOT auto-renew and once for $99 for their yearly premium membership that I didn't sign up for. They have no explanation for charging me for things I don't want.
They also doubled the price of domain renewals from $9.95/yr to $19.95/yr.
I googled around a bit and don't see anyone else complaining about anything like this. Am I missing something here? Why in the world would I stay with Enom when they're screwing with my account like this?
Also, the enomcentral.com and bulkregister.com pages are nearly identical. Was this switch just an excuse to raise prices, or what?
Whoa that sounds pretty damn unacceptable. Ive heard horror stories with enom, so I've never moved/bought/transferred a domain from them. Never heard of bulkregister.com ? Might want to shoot enom a phone call? e-mail? ticket?
And let your CC company know of this unlawful practice? Check their TOS and see if there's anything there that gives them the right to auto-sign you up like this?

It seems unethical for them to do so. Changing your Credit Card may help?

They did same to me. I had removed the auto-renew option but still they auto renewed my domain. I've now transferred the domain from enom.

Smells very fishy to me, this is all I know.
Enom have never given me anything but 'solid' service.
RegFly, registry fly or whatever their current incarnation is....
we all know about.... keep clear of any communications from them.
Bulk Registry was taken over by eNom quite a while ago, maybe 5-6 years I guess
they had a good reputation.
I would go straight to eNom and tell them whats been happening.
Unless you tell them, they may never know.
I guess you could 'push' your domains to an alternative enom account if you wanted to
get away from 'those that are screwing with you'.

I finally got a reply from sales there and they confirmed that all domains were set to auto-renew upon being moved to bulkregister.com. They also confirmed the new pricing. You either pay the $99 yearly fee and get domains and renewals for $12.95 or you don't pay the $99 and domains and renewals are $19.95. Either way, it's more than the $9.95 that I was paying and is also more than most other registrars. I was also sent an invoice today stating that I'd be charged $3.95 per year for URL forwarding for one of my domains that's up for renewal soon. Turns out that URL forwarding is no longer free like it was with Enom.
I've sent another email to them stating that I'll be moving my domains to another registrar unless they can explain to me why I'm now paying double for domains and renewals and also being charged for extras which used to be free. I'll post back if I receive a reply.
I'm so sick of this crap with registrars. I thought Enom was a reputable company, but it appears I thought wrong.
I guess I'll try out namecheap.com - I know a few people who have names there and are quite happy.

That was quick, I just received a reply from an account rep at Enom:
Standard pricing in our eNomCentral account is $34.95/yr per domain. Your account was originally moved into an eNomCentral account after problems arose with your reseller at that time, Registerfly. We grandfathered the Registerfly customers for several years. Over the years however, the cost for domains has increased primarily due to increased costs from the registries and ICANN the governing body of domains. To continue to offer our customers discounted rates, we moved select customers with 10 or more domains to BulkRegister which is our discount domain platform.
BulkRegister offers 2 membership types as outlined in the prior email. The premium membership provides discount rates on domains. At this time, we are doing a promotion for our Bulk Premium members that provides them with $8.95 domain renewals on gtlds through March 31st.
Not much help there, although I guess it at least gives a reason why my account was moved. I'm not paying these prices though, so I guess I'll be moving my domains. I'm not going to pay double just because they don't feel like honoring their old pricing.
I suppose I can see their argument for a price increase, although there are many registrars out there offering domains for under $10/yr. My problem with them is the shady way they went about it and also the drastic price increase. I'd have no problem with an extra few dollars per domain, but I'm not paying double.
I have just been charged 99 dollars and I have sent them the email asking not to charge peoples account without authorization.
Last week they charged me 6.0 for rich content I didn't sign up.I told them I will charge back so they refunded(they said they did but I have not received)
I have about 40 domains with them and about 30 with go daddy. Will be transferring all the enom domain to godaddy for the time being.

At least some of you received replies. I emailed them several times disputing the $99 charge that I had previously unauthorized as well as other unauthorized charges and have received no response. So I am disputing the credit card charges. I don't have enough domains to make the $99 charge worthwhile.
