Hi

I'am trying to create a name server in CPanel/WHM, but it always says some error.
Do I need first to make those subdomains, so I will have ns1.myname.com ns2.myname.com, and then try to "Change Hostname", to put this created subdomains as Hostnames.

Please say if you need more details...

thank you

It's best to post this question on the control panel forum.

<<MOD NOTE: Thread moved, maybe better luck here>>

Ask your hosts support about names servers for WHM (should be info in their welcome letter) - and ask here about how to set the name servers at the registrars.

Your question is quite confusing, there are two things that you mentioned and these are hostname and nameservers. If you are getting an error, it is best to copy and paste the error into this thread for others to solve the problem or to advise you. But please note that nameservers and hostname are two different things.

To create a nameserver, you need to add the sub-domains (ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com) into the DNS record for domain.com. Then you need to register the nameservers with your domain registrar. Once this has been done, wait 24 hours for your nameservers to propagate around the Internet. This is the quick version of doing it, if you need more details just ask :).
