slow,
totally useless,
very slow,
pointless,
so god dammed slowwwww....
...

How can a company (big as this one) could even keep a website like this? It is rubbish, over-weighted, totally useless, crap... etc....

Will they change this ****** web site of theirs?
ever thinkin of changing this ****?

I'm really done with them, wasting 10 minutes of my life, just to change ONE simple setting on one of my domains.

They make me sick.

Their web site is that much crap that I even dont consider to login there and transfer my domain to another provider. that much crap indeed.

I hate godaddys website. I hope they all drop dead.

you can feel my hatred? it is almost touchable : )

all of my life I ve been a humaniterist, passifist, anti-racist person, living and always looking for peace. 'till this day. I even start to support nuclear weapons from now on.

someone nuke them for gods sake.

It's a little slow I have to admit, but I have quite a few domains there and I honestly think it's the most user friendly of all the registrars.

I like godaddy,

They might be slow but their prices and their domain manager is superb.

I really like Godaddy and have been using them for a while now.

I've got a nice speed from them, unless you have dial-up it should be fast for you too.

They have a nice design, all you need to know is there.

I always use them just for domains not hosting.

Godaddy's domain management panel is one of the reasons I am moving my domains away from they. It used to be very simple and friendly when I started using them 8 0r 9 years ago.

It's undergone some weird changes in the last 3 years I've been using them, but I honestly think it's one of the better ones. I plan to move my other 30 domains from moniker/dynadot to GoDaddy to keep everything in one spot

It really is that slow. I was adding SPF records to a bunch of domains the other day. Because of their reliance on overly fancy javascript and use of cookies for navigation, you really can't use more than one tab at the same time, and with the speed of their pageloads it took about two minutes *per domain*. I was half ready to shoot myself at the end of that.

eNom has a far better domain management panel IMO.

I HATE godaddy's web site.
The good thing is, GoDaddy is NOT a monopoly, and you don't have to "love" their website. I for one seldom use GoDaddy any more, but not because of their website.

Agreed. GoDaddy for the actual registration is relatively painless though imho, and fast. Use someone else for nameservers, and get the best of both worlds?

They have defiantly gone overboard with the javascript. Its not a nice website to navigate.

I HATE godaddy's web site

+1

I've never had any particularly horrible experiences with them, but I've also never liked using them - and their site (and its functionality) is pretty much the main reason.

The whole 'Less is More' thing never really caught on with goDaddy, did it?

And try getting back into an account you've lost access to. I understand they need to enforce a certain level of security, but I've never come across such a slow, run-around process. I have an online banking account that completely unregisters and locks you out if you enter your password incorrectly ONCE! and I've had less trouble getting back into that than regaining access to a goDaddy account.

Stopped using them years ago, though, so quite possible they've improved their procedures somewhat since - but the site's still cluttered to the extreme.

That said, I enjoy reading through "Bob's" blog on occasion. You'll always find a few interesting posts.

I too like godaddy. your right that sometime their site goes slow, but they've provided me top notch services in terms of domains and hosting for the past 4-5 years!

Yes i have to agree if your not to familiar with GoDaddy the site can get hard to navigate... But i got used to it... I fly in and out of it when purchasing domain's that all i use them for have quite a few domain's with them and have had no complaint's. Anyhow i learned by calling them if i ever got stuck... But it's not that hard to get the hang of it... it's like a new cell phone is all hahaha.

I think that a domain registrar should be analized based on their DNS platform & Management Console. From what I've seen so far, Godaddy DNS lookups suffers from inconsistency - sometimes lookups takes longer than 1 second. Another thing that I don't like is that you can't choose TTLs with values between the interval 1 day - 1 week. It would be great if they will let us setup custom TTLs; right now you can use only predefined values.

After I've had to deal with GoDaddy Abuse Department, now I pay atention to things like TOS, spam policy & abuse. It seems that Godaddy is to zealous and they suspend your domain without giving you the chance to defend. If you are on vacation and you do not reply them in 48 hours you can say buhbye to your domain.

But for a normal user, with a small or medium website Godaddy could be a good option.

Most of the people get into trouble with godaddy because they host their domains there. I've had no complaints of godaddy abusing their position with my 5000 domains registered there. I also think their Control Panel is the best one out there. Mind you, Checkout is a pain. But you get used to how to make that faster.

I have never been to their site. I cannot stand the commercials with Danica Patrick in them. She sold out. I use 000domains.com for my registrar and I host with Host Monster.

A few years ago when I was a host, Go Daddy had a poor rep with hosting. After reading this thread it looks like they have improved a little.

I have found godaddy very user friendly and it is my registrar of choice. I have several domains there. I have never used there hosting services though only the domain registry and DNS management.

I really believe their branding AND interface hold them back in huge ways...when will companies get this right?

Furthermore, I really do believe this is an industry still waiting for someone to blow up and do it "right" sort of like apple and the ipod/iphone

Yes, you'd think that a company of their size would be able to hire someone who really knew UI. They are trying to communicate waaaay too much on their site. It is overly complicated.

i've said it in another thread, their control panel is what ran me away, it is soooooooooo bloated, i only use them when I buy a name from someone else and its pushed into my account there, then i move it to domainsite usually, i could update 10 domains there to 1 at godaddy in the same amount of time

GoDaddy just registerers a lot of domains because they have the money to run ads with cute girls on T.V. True story....

But yes, their website is kind of bloated.

I recommend eNom although I'm started to get ticked off with eNom going down for maintenance. Does that ever happen with GoDaddy? eNom likes to drop off the map for like 8 hours sometimes. :(

While I agree that GoDaddy's site is horrid to use, Namecheap wont allow making IPv6 nameserver glue. Also despite the horrific usability issues, godaddy does have nice pricing.

I used their DNS way back when. It was unbearable. In the amount of time wasted waiting for pages to fail to load, and redoing things that didnt go through the first time, and contacting support when gd replaces all your changes with weird values at random, one could alternatively:

Download BIND, build it from source, read all documetation and teach themselves how to use BIND with all its features, make a pizza, eat the pizza, set up BIND on a few servers, create all their zone files, test the configuration, get a full nights sleep, eat breakfast the following morning, watch a movie, and still come out ahead in terms of time and frustration spent.

Yeah I used godaddy a few times and never again will I use them. I'll stick to namecheap.com or mydomain.com for domains, much cleaner interfaces ^_^

I disliked GoDaddy's Site too. It is rather slow, especially when connecting from Singapore. It gets pretty annoying if one has multiple domain names to manage.
