What guys do you recommend for accepting creditcards? How long have you been with them? How much % do they take on each transaction?

I'm looking for something like paypal only for credit cards.

Thanks.

I have used:

www.ibill.com
www.2checkout.com
www.paysystems.com (only for ~2 weeks)

check their web sites for rates, and do a search here so you will find out more.

2checkout and paysystems are having some issues right now, so I don't want to recommend anything right now.

I used to be VERY happy with 2checkout

You can accept credit cards via PayPal if you have a premier or business account. However companies such as 2checkout, although given their troubles right now not necessarily them, would be an easy choice.

As a non-merchant, (i.e. someone without a merchant account with your bank), you are not yourself authorised to collect credit card details, and so all providers of services for non-merchant account holders will host the payment pages on their own servers and you will receive notification of transaction success or failure via emails and/or callbacks.

Yeah.. I was going to try 2checkout but now all I see are threads saying bad things about them...

I'm okay with not directly handling the cc #'s too (I'd actually prefer not to if I didn't have to) but I have many many people from non-US that paypal won't let signup and I'm losing a lot of potential clients without being able to take credit cards so I need to find a good service.

Thanks for the tips I'll check them out.

I have been using charge.com which offers merchant accounts through authorize.net. So far i have had no problems and everything has went rather smoothly.. They provide good support when needed, which its rarely needed. Its easy to get intouch with a real person which is one thing that i like the most about them, also they respond quickly to emails.

Also, authorize.net is almost completely compatible with every billing/ticketing system out there and is recognized and trusted by many people/customers. It also looks more professional than having a company like paypal or 2checkout in my opinion.

There are more advantages too them, i suggest checking into them either directly or through charge.com before making up your mind...

RH4U : How much do you pay while setup ( i assume its zero setup ) and how much do you pay monthly ? and what features r u using or what plans ?

I payed no setup fee as they dont charge one, but you have to pay for the method you wish to except payments... if i remember correctly i payed $195.00 to purchase rights to use the virtual terminal.

Other than that im only charged $10.00 Monthly, .30 per transaction, and 2.29% per transaction.

You can do as i did and purchase the rights to virtual terminal or lease it or purchase real terminal, etc. and there may be a few other options available now.

Features im using, not many... right now im just using it for manual entries for credit cards, but they set you up so you can except credit cards, checks, and there is some other features for client managment but i never use them because i do that on another piece of software..

I just switched from Cardservice with Linkpoint to eOnlineData with authorize.net.

I was with CardService for over 3 years and I really like eOnlineData better. I signed up through ModernBill and so far have had nothing but good experiences.

We have been using 2checkout, revecom, instabill (before they disappeared) and clickbank.

The most accurate one was clickbank, only limited in features.

We are using 2checkout now, they are the best in features, but worst in money management, especially lately. If they just get a good *accounting system*, they will be perfect.

We are using Clickbank too for credit card orders of our design packages. Their accounting system is accurate. The only problem is their "screening" process (they call it risk-management system) for the credit card is quite strict. Although I don't consider it as a problem. :)

Good luck!
