Folks:

I need a simple CMS with the ability to create physical pages in subdirectories. I have a client who's a glamour model. We're working on a pay site for her. Most of the pay content will be a blog, but some will be photos and video. Because of the "adult" nature of the content, we're going to have to go with CCBill to process payments.

I'd like a CMS that she can access that will allow us to modify the "free" front-end pages, and also reach into the /members subdirectory to edit pages there - all from one control panel.

I wanted to use Wordpress, but the whole site structure is in one database. Caribou CMS would be great but the cost to program a CCBill gateway is prohibitive.

I need something simple, something that will allow me to put pages in subdirectories, but is still secure.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Try PRO version of Eco CMS (http://www.ecocms.com), it stores all pages in data/ folder, in html files, there is no database at all.

Not real impressed with the site or the CMS - sorry. And yes, I downloaded the "works on the desktop" pro version. Not really ready for prime time, in my opionion.

Any other suggestions?

You can try XOOPS and Wordpress together, as rotame mentioned above as I've also heard they're excellent to use!

That CMS Made Simple is lookin' pretty good as well.

I appreciate all the helpful suggestions I've gotten. Unfortunately, right now, there's no CMS that 1) does what I want it to and that 2) is easy enough to use that I can turn it over to the end-user.

I found some really nice software, though, that I'll be using for future projects. For this one, I'm going to have to develop the site off-line and use a blog module the client can access on-line. Overhead ont he package is HUGE, but it's a one-time thing so who cares. ::grin::

Again, thanks for all the great advice!

I know it's a bit of a 'have you tried searching on google' type reply but have you looked at: http://php.opensourcecms.com/ for solutions which might fit you?

I've used http://www.silverstripe.com/ before which is very easy from a user point of view. You can create blogs / sub pages etc... nice and easily.

However failing that really you are into custom development really...

I had not found this before - not sure why. Wow! What an amazing collection! When I have time, I'm definitely sorting through some of these. Thanks for the tip!
