I'm looking for host that offer paid uptime agreements (where they pay you if the server is unreachable due to an outage, etc). Anyone know of any ?

Ehm, this may not be the exact reply you expected, but I would look for a provider that doesn't even need such an SLA :) much better for your business.

I don't think any host will offer paid uptime offer. There could be X number of reason for downtime like harware or software crashes. And how can anyone can network uptime. It's interesting post.

I dont remember where, but i've seen offers like this before. Make sure you read ALL the FINE print if you do find a host offering this. Alot of times they will only warrant the server and not the connections. So if the router goes, their lines are cut, etc... As long as the server works they are "up".. Also they may have time limits that the server is unreachable before the SLA kicks in and you start getting paid.

Try reading their TOS or SLA. Most hosts have a refund policy if their downtime goes below their guarantee uptime. But generally those can be pretty negligible.

if you are looking for someone to actually pay you damages... that's not likely or at least I haven't seen any. You can however buy insurance for that.

I dont think anyone would be able to say they would pay you for downtime, but rather to refund you money for x amount of downtime is completely possible if for example they have contracts with their providors, etc...

So for example they may say that if the network is down for 3 or more hours you receive your months payment back in full, that would be possible if they had the correct setup and agreements on their end, but that would be network downtime and not hardware, customer loss, profit loss, etc.. only the time there network was down.
