Hello all,

Well we have been using Crafty Syntax live chat script and noticed ever since we started to have full time 24/7 staff use the script we have been having issues with our reseller provider blocking our staffs IP addressed due to "excessive apache hits" from our ip(s).

I believe this is because of the way the script refreshes itself.

So I am looking for some suggestions I know this community loves livezilla. However I don't like Livezilla because you can only run it off a program you download to your desktop and I am looking for something (like crafty) that has a web based panel that you login to so that you can be available for live chats.

Anyone know any good (free) scripts that offer this? While not using excessive amounts of the servers resources.

Thanks

Is this an issue with server resources or simply a firewall issue?

Well I am not sure I just know that My reseller provider keeps blocking my IP address and today when I asked them what the cause of this is they stated its because of "excessive apache hits from my ip" and apparently there system blocks any ip automatically when such a thing happens.

Our site (I hate to say publicly) does not get a ton of traffic since we are new and the only thing I can think of that could be an issue is I am loggined into the crafty script for 12 hours a day there are no other scripts running or things I do other then ftp files up and down at times as I continue to tweak our website design.

Your reseller provider is most probably using CSF to monitor your apache logs and firewall excessive connections in a certain time frame, I suggest you contact them and ask if they can add an exception for your host, or exclude your apache log all together.

Thanks Psyhost for the suggestion. I would think they would do this for me automatically since they know which live chat script I am running and that this has happened more than a handful of times over the past week

But I will ask them to add an exception to their firewall for me and see if they are willing to do to (I hope)
