Hello,

I was wandering if someone will be kind enough to tell me in details, how to generate a ssl certificate for one of the domain I am hosting on my server using WHM.

I have a dedicated server with fastservers. Does the server come with a pre installed SSl certificate or I have to purchase one???

Thank you all.

In WHM you have to generate a signing request. It is under the SSL/TLS section: "Generate an SSL Certifcate and Signing Request "

Yes it is. They also offer 'ChainedSSL', which is $15 and has a much higher browser trust level (I thoroughly recommend ChainnedSSL - excellent value for money), but FreeSSL remains free. :)

If for some for some reason the SSL certificate is deleted accidentally, Is it possible to recover the SSL certificate? or does it need to be purchased again?

thank you

If you have the saved keys you can just re-install.

Here is the situatio, I ordered SSL certificate through the hosting company. The hosting company contacted whoever the CA is and purchased the SSL certificate and installed it on the server. Later on, for some reason, I accidentally replaced the SSL installed with a wrong SSL. Then, the hosting company claims that the original SSL certificate was gone and I need to purchase another one. Is that how it works? aren't they supposed to keep a backup or something when this thing happen?
