I've bought a new controller (Adaptec 3405) and I'm using it with SuperMicro X8ST3-F but when I hit Ctrl-A to enter configuration utility, it shows the controller Serial Number, Memory, etc, and in the end there is a "error message" saying to hit Enter to force the Config Utility to load. If I hit enter it doesn't move, stays there lots of time, if I let it go trough a character starts blinking in the bottom lright corner and the motherboard keeps biping continuosly.

Thanks,

could be a firmware issue.. Try updating the firmware.
I've had a number of issues running Adaptec cards on supermicro machines, our SAN is a supermicro box and had to go through many firmwares to find a stable match on both machine and card.

Could be a bad riser

Hi,

I've updated to the latest Firmware and now I can't downgrade. I have two motherboards, a X8STE, and a X8STI. With the latest BIOS on the X8STI it runs perfectly, but in the X8STE when you start writing to the disk it crashes (I've tried with riser and without it).

Is there any possibility of downgrading Adaptec Firmware?

Both Motherboards have the latest BIOS too.

Thanks
