What do people here think of H-Sphere?

I've heard that the admin's love it ... but I've also heard that the customers seem to be confused by it. anyone care to shed light on the situation? At $4.00 a license, I've got to be sure about this decision.

Essentially what I'm looking for are personal experiences on both the admin end and also on the customer end.

Thanks.

We really like it a lot. If you get the stuff from demodemo.com customers will like it much better.. :)

Vortech,

Do you think that customers prefer CPanel over H-Sphere ... I've heard that some customers are actually asking for it when e-mailing a prospective host. Had anyone do this?

I don't like the fact that H Sphere is java-based.

EDIT: Nope, I was wrong .... Hsphere is based on Java ... that makes me sad ... I don't like Java much.

1upromo,

It may be expensive, but it's supirior (suposedly) features are worth the money.

ThomasC,

Are you using a custom built skin?

H Sphere is a completely integrated hosting, billing and support system. No other control panel on the market today offers even close to what H Sphere has.

We use it and are very happy with it.

We too use h-sphere and are very happy with it. You have to also keep in mind that you are paying $4 per license, and thats a one time fee, unlike cpanel where you pay monthly.

We love their system software! We are using them now and wow what a difference. You only have to buy 100 control panels at $4.50 a piece and they will install there system for you at no charge. (Total $450) The $4.50 is a one time fee and can be reused over and over again as old clients leave and new ones arrive. Best of all you can manage multiple servers with one user license, no need to buy more admin software as you expand. We have found there support team great and have had no problems or bugs since we got the System Installed 6 months ago. Free upgrades and alot of extra software bundled into the system software like the website studio program.

Im for HSphere, BUT you have missed an important part, you have to pay 10% of all your licences (someone said $4.50 per licence above) you have say 100, 10% of 100 @ $4.50 per year.

Correct me if im wrong, but im sure thats the case, dont get me wrong its still worth it, but thats an added cost per year, this covers all your upgrades and so on, so its not "free" as you have put it above.

If i am wrong, please correct me, i remember reading about this on the psoft site (i think) a long time ago, it may no longer be the case.

I am unaware of any yearly fee with psoft. They have priority support which you can purchase at an additional fee, but as far as I know there is no additional licence fee. Its one time.

I could be wrong because I get my licences from a 3rd party, but this seems to be the case.

Website contact has been updated, i will email psoft for information.

Hello Thomas

It's not true.

H-Sphere is licensed at $4.50 per account ONE TIME FEE. There is an initial $95 setup fee to cover installation of the software. The software can be purchased in packs of 100 accounts. Site Studio software comes for free with the H-Sphere. Alse, H-Sphere license can be reusedif other client left.

H-Sphere support and upgrades are free for first year. For second year, it's up to you, if you would like to have free upgrades and free support it will cost you 20% of license fee.

You Don't have to pay 10% of all your accounts, per year

Regards,
Mike

Hello,

This is interesting it used to be 10% when I signed up for hsphere. I am going to find out what the exact deal is.

Also the message above is confusing. Mike is making a big deal out of the yearly amount not being 10% but it is 20% which is higher amount! Perhaps I am missing something.

Yes, i found it confusing, thanks also for clearing that up,
i knew i had seen the 10% per year somewhere!

Thanks for that.

Hello,

I sent a question to psoft support asking about that.

I signed up when the rate was 10%, so I think I should be charged the 10% for the licenses I purchased at that time. And then new licenses I purchase afterward can be charged at the 20% rate. That seems fair to me. I will let the board know what their response is.

David
