 | View Full Version : What's wrong with WHT? Browser freeze! Reptilian Feline 11-29-2002, 09:21 AM Whenever I click a link in a post in WHT the browser window freezes and I have to ctrl alt delete it! I run win XP so it want's to send an error report every time I do that, and no fix from Microsoft. Other websites work fine. Reptilian Feline 11-29-2002, 10:49 AM The problem started today, and I have the same browser since I started posting on WHT. I'm not exactly sure how WHT is working behind the scene, but my thought is that when I call for whatever is in the link, the wht server starts to try and give it to me, but for some reason it can't and my own browser window (that waits for new content) freezes. When I use the ctrl alt delete I can see that the window (with WHT) is still supposed to be working properly, even if it isn't. Ctrl-Alt-Del wouldn't even work but Winamp kept on serving the tunes... Synthetic 11-30-2002, 02:34 AM I experienced that yesterday, but it was most definately an issue on my side. (My computer had been running some intensive programs, which slowed down the processor). Gets annoying when I hit the back button in my browser only to have that ad screw up my window, putting the flash right in the middle of the window.. Doesn't hurt anything in my case, but I could see it messing with some browsers to that point.. Reptilian Feline 12-02-2002, 06:07 AM Well... seems to be working for now. My computer acted up a lot before the weekend, but after a rest and reboot, it now seems to work. When I shut it down I had a lot of reports of software that hadn't shut down properly. Very strange. Guess it's that XP thingy. Juts hate it at the moment. It's hard to write books about it when it's not installed though. Thanks for all your input! It's nice to know I'm not alone. :) |
