Confirmed here as well. Wonder how long this has been for. I've used name.com before but never had any issues with it.

They are down for me too. Plus I am 6 days into a domain transfer to Domainsite.com and have no idea what is going on. I am beginning to regret dealing with Name.com and Domainsite.com.

Maybe the scheduled conversion of the domainsite.com interface to the name.com interface wasn't as smooth as expected.

Has been down for me as well. I called their customer support number but they closed at 6pm EST and the automated lady referred me to the website...which is down.

I agree that it is likely not intentional downtime since being the large provider they are, they likely would have made some sort of announcement or put up a placeholder page as notification.

According to name.com's twitter there was a power outage at their datacenter (you'd think they'd have backup generators for this sort of thing).

The site seems to be back up now.

For example my name.com account hacked ( my email hacked ) and i report it 48H ago but they don't answer me

Time is very important in this condition

Hacker may push all my domains to other account .

my suggestion : name.com must create new support category for Critical issues

Not smooth is an understatement for the transition that is going between Name.com and Domainsite.com.

It is interesting from the the link you provided they said they would give people the option to combine accounts at Name.com and Domainsite.com.

Hi Dan,

That will not cause a problem, you will continue to have individual accounts at each registrar. Password recovery will function as expected for both accounts. You will also have the option to do an account transfer of your domains into one single account (at either registrar) so that you can manage your names without logging into multiple accounts/registrars.

I hope that helps clear things up.But when I went to the new Domainsite.com (http://www.domainsite.com/update_username.php) I was faced with this:

Why does name.com and domainsite.com not show on homepage that they are ICANN Accredited?

name.com notice on home page:
NOTICE: On February 10th at 3:30PM MST we were notified by our primary data center provider that they had experienced a complete power outage. Our System Administrators were on-site shortly after being notified of the issue. Once power was completely restored, we were able to bring all services back online at 6:30PM MST. I just noticed my name.com domains show the registrar as "Spot Domain LLC" instead of name.com. It wasn't like that before. That seems odd. I don't know if it has anything to do with the outage or the merger.

It could be normal. I just transferred some domains there a few weeks ago, and I copied the whois listing after they were transferred, and it said:

Registrar: Name.com LLC
The Data in the Name.com LLC WHOIS database is provided by Name.com LLC for information purposes, ...

And now it says:
Registrar: Spot Domain LLC
The Data in the Spot Domain LLC WHOIS database is provided by Spot Domain LLC for information purposes, ...

So it did change in the last few weeks, but maybe that's the normal way things work there.

Name.com is up again. From here - Asia.

Domainsite PayPal payments went to Spot Domain.

Name.com is down for me right now.

Thanks, I just checked my domains again today, and they're back to showing as registered by Name.com LLC. So it looks like whatever it was has been fixed.
