although Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are strangely derivatives of "day of drinking beer" as well, so I dont know how they knew what day it was back then.

it's actually the day that could be set aside for love

it's the day dedicated to Freya, goddess of the growing things, of life, of renewal, of couplings (nice word for you-know-what) of conception, of birth, of fertility, of growth, of new life

and in other european languages it's the day dedicated to Venus, the goddess of of growing things, of life, of renewal etc etc etc

so, Friday is the day dedicated to having a very nice intimate time with someone you'd like to have a nice intimate time with in a very close and personal way

and perhaps quaffing a glass of good wine (or rough red) or a pleasing lager would ease and improve those intimate moments

No such thing as the weekend to me. It's 7 days of fun and excitement!! :D
