(IE: right click on a link and it will give you additonal options like open in new browswer) RWH 12-05-2002, 12:02 AM no jameso 12-05-2002, 12:44 AM I got the new version of a few days ago. Personally, I'm not a fan of Trillian. I dont' know why, but I'm just not. silversurfer 12-05-2002, 01:03 AM I just use Icq lite. RRolfe 12-05-2002, 01:13 AM Originally posted by NocSol Don't mean to oppose you but bugger ICQ and get TRILLIAN (AIM/ICQ/IRC/MSN/Y!) in one. www.trillian.cc ;) yeah i am with you.. i never did care for the ICQ interface much. Trillian is much better, total all-n-1 solution. silversurfer 12-05-2002, 01:15 AM if you have aim/icq/msg/Y! ... then trillium is the best choice. but since I only use icq, i opted for icqlite.. which has all the basic functions and is not the bloatware that icq has became. PencWeb 12-05-2002, 10:27 AM Trillian sucks, so lame, the original apps are just worth it. :D mattschinkel 12-05-2002, 12:07 PM yeah i am with you.. i never did care for the ICQ interface much. Trillian is much better, total all-n-1 solution. Same here... I'm getting to like Trillian, EXCEPT THE SMILIES! Can I make custom Smilies? and get the old ones back from ICQ and AIM? I already changed the sounds, lol Can anyone recomend a good Skin? Trillian is great for support work, I like grouping and having everyone on one instant messaging prog. dalecom 12-05-2002, 12:09 PM Yeah you cant beat trillian, I wonder does it install any spyware like kazaa? mattschinkel 12-05-2002, 12:16 PM Not that I know of.... We should make this a poll, lol.... Alex[nl] 12-05-2002, 01:28 PM <grin> ... yeah .. another one in favour of trillian (1.o pro) phpcoder 12-05-2002, 01:34 PM Did they ever get rid of that big backdoor in Trillian? mattschinkel 12-05-2002, 03:33 PM What backdoor? case 12-05-2002, 03:53 PM Originally posted by nishansoft Trillian sucks, so lame, the original apps are just worth it. :D I dont see what sucks about trillian , if you happen to use more then one chat or instant messaging client , then trillian is the way to go . I would hate to have aim , icq , yahoo , msn , and irc open at at one time . Not to mention , trillian uses less resources . I think it would be LAME not to consider a program like this if you use more then one client . My experience with the original apps = garbage . they're usually over bloated , and have the features are un-needed JSpired 12-05-2002, 03:57 PM The new ICQ is nice, I'll give it that. I downloaded it this morning and played around with it, but it's still so resource intensive. I promptly uninstalled it and went back to my old favorite..Trillian. skylab 12-05-2002, 03:58 PM no spyware in trillian and they fixed several large problems with patches. never heard anything about a "big backdoor" and i have been using trillian for over a year. i'd like to hear more about that. phpcoder 12-05-2002, 04:12 PM I don't know what the exact backdoor was, however I had many people telling me to get rid of it and not to use it becuase of it  IGobyTerry 12-05-2002, 04:13 PM I don't like Trillian either. The user interface is too clunky, maybe I should try downloading on of the other skins though. Mester 12-06-2002, 01:00 AM The first time i used trillan I didnt like it, but after getting it again, I havent switched back. I like the ICQ and MSN clients but find it more convenient just to have one program running. :) skylab 12-06-2002, 04:45 AM i used to only use IRC and AIM. when i started with trillian, i ended up using all 5, just because i can, and without ads and quite stylishly :) > my favourite skin for trillian free and trillian pro http://www.cubbie.de/microscopic Lonny 12-06-2002, 07:28 AM I really miss the early versions of ICQ.... UH-Matt 12-06-2002, 07:44 AM trillian is great if you spend a little bit of time and effort setting it up just how you want it. I think my skin is called "geek blue" but i modified it and removed the name from the skin so wouldnt be sure. mattschinkel 12-07-2002, 01:01 AM Thanks matt.... I'll try that skin... Any way of fixing the smilies? I have no way of telling what smiles are for what messaging program. cool name by the way :D NexDog 12-07-2002, 01:03 AM I always hated ICG. MSN and AIM are far better. Just my opinion, don't kill me. akashik 12-07-2002, 03:33 AM I'm not the chatty type and windows comes with a perfectly good client in MSN Messenger so I've always just stuck with that Greg Moore Selpaw 12-07-2002, 06:28 AM Trillian - your one stop messenger system. AlaskanWolf 12-07-2002, 09:41 AM why in the fricken world did icq ever remove that feature, where you can right click on a url to either open it in the current (existing) browser or a new window, thats what kept me from ever up'ing from icq2000b msn 12-07-2002, 09:53 PM Originally posted by skylab i used to only use IRC and AIM. when i started with trillian, i ended up using all 5, just because i can, and without ads and quite stylishly :) > my favourite skin for trillian free and trillian pro http://www.cubbie.de/microscopic The skin looks great |
