Don't mean to oppose you but bugger ICQ and get TRILLIAN (AIM/ICQ/IRC/MSN/Y!) in one.

does the latest icq have right click on link support? (IE: right click on a link and it will give you additonal options like open in new browswer)

I got the new version of a few days ago.

Personally, I'm not a fan of Trillian. I dont' know why, but I'm just not.

yeah i am with you.. i never did care for the ICQ interface much. Trillian is much better, total all-n-1 solution.

if you have aim/icq/msg/Y! ... then trillium is the best choice. but since I only use icq, i opted for icqlite.. which has all the basic functions and is not the bloatware that icq has became.

Trillian sucks, so lame, the original apps are just worth it. :D

Same here... I'm getting to like Trillian, EXCEPT THE SMILIES! Can I make custom Smilies? and get the old ones back from ICQ and AIM? I already changed the sounds, lol

Can anyone recomend a good Skin?

Trillian is great for support work, I like grouping and having everyone on one instant messaging prog.

Did they ever get rid of that big backdoor in Trillian?

I dont see what sucks about trillian , if you happen to use more then one chat or instant messaging client , then trillian is the way to go . I would hate to have aim , icq , yahoo , msn , and irc open at at one time . Not to mention , trillian uses less resources . I think it would be LAME not to consider a program like this if you use more then one client . My experience with the original apps = garbage . they're usually over bloated , and have the features are un-needed

The new ICQ is nice, I'll give it that. I downloaded it this morning and played around with it, but it's still so resource intensive. I promptly uninstalled it and went back to my old favorite..Trillian.

no spyware in trillian and they fixed several large problems with patches.

never heard anything about a "big backdoor" and i have been using trillian for over a year. i'd like to hear more about that.

I don't know what the exact backdoor was, however I had many people telling me to get rid of it and not to use it becuase of it

I don't like Trillian either. The user interface is too clunky, maybe I should try downloading on of the other skins though.

The first time i used trillan I didnt like it, but after getting it again, I havent switched back.

I like the ICQ and MSN clients but find it more convenient just to have one program running. :)

i used to only use IRC and AIM. when i started with trillian, i ended up using all 5, just because i can, and without ads and quite stylishly :)

trillian is great if you spend a little bit of time and effort setting it up just how you want it.

I think my skin is called "geek blue" but i modified it and removed the name from the skin so wouldnt be sure.

Thanks matt.... I'll try that skin...

Any way of fixing the smilies? I have no way of telling what smiles are for what messaging program.

cool name by the way :D

I always hated ICG. MSN and AIM are far better.

Just my opinion, don't kill me.

I'm not the chatty type and windows comes with a perfectly good client in MSN Messenger so I've always just stuck with that

why in the fricken world did icq ever remove that feature, where you can right click on a url to either open it in the current (existing) browser or a new window, thats what kept me from ever up'ing from icq2000b
