Hi guys

which of these 2 would you choose for a professional design and why? I have seen many people and big companies using them both alike, but private companies tend to go with Typo3 mostly.

Which one is more light on resourses, easier to work with, and secure?

Has anyone used both of them? What is your experience, does any of these two provides better features?

Thank you

Most people use Drupal simply because it's simple.

I got stuck using Typo3 for several projects and would never do it again. It has a really steep learning curve. It is very flexible and you could probably build anything you want with it, but you pay for that with complexity. You should definitely download it and try it if you're considering using it.

I haven't used Drupal, but I imagine you can get a site up and running much faster and easier with it than you could Typo3. Also check out CMS Made Simple if you haven't already. If you're familiar with Smarty, getting a site running in CMSMS is a breeze.

Thanks guys,

Apart from complexity, would you rate one better than the other?

What if you want to use it for ecommerce?

Have a good day.

Yeap, I would suggest Drupal its a simple, good and right management for content.

On the other hand Drupal can be turned out to quite a powerful CMS under skillful hands. I worked with Drupal on several projects lately and it has improve a lot since I used it last time (few years ago). I would recommend checking it out. Also if you feel you are yet to learn the whole Drupal system, you could get video tutorials from Lynda.com as I've had a good look at it and they seem to be decent, especially for beginners.

Unfortunately I never gave Typo3 a chance, but have been playing with MODx lately as it can be turned out to be a useful, simple CMS as well.

Cheers!

Drupal and Typo3 are both very very flexible and powerful, but Drupal is easier to learn and build upon IMHO. Typo3 is VERY complicated, and Drupal just a lil bit ;)

Definitely going to go with drupal on this. RE: ecommerce, magento / open cart is awesome.
