Hello,
I am buying my first server soon and would like to know what software should i install on it?
Thats what i've got so far:
- RedHat Linux 7.3
- Apache
- MySQL
- PHP
- Perl
- Sendmail
What else would i need to install?

You may also want to install a firewall on it.
IPCHAINS, IPFW, etc..
Maybe some type of webmail system..
Tons of things that COULD be installed, just depends on what you want installed..

Qmail - mail
vpopmail - **
QmailADMIN - Mail Management
NeoMAIL/and/or/Horde - Webmail
Spamassasin - spammers are annoying :p
IPCHAINS - security
PHP - Obvious
PERL - Obvious
Apache - Obvious
if you can afford it, just get a cpanel license.. Then all of this plus more is installed, and its much easier to manage the customers and the server
Depends...is this to host only yourself or are you going to host other people? If just yourself, you might want to invest in cPanel. If you're going to host others, look for something bigger...
Also, if you're hosting others, a SMTP and/or POP3 server wouldn't go awry...however you spell that...
