View Full Version : Good place to start
I'm looking to start my own company, I have a business plan, I have a design, pretty much everything except a host.
I have a budget of $20-$30 a month and I'm looking for a company that will provide me with WHMCS, cPanel, a billing system, maybe even SSL for free or low cost (monthly?).
I do NOT want any suggestions of companies which selling unlimited, as they're just pathetic.
Basically just looking for a reliable host with a decent amount of resources to start off, the more bandwidth the better. Also, I want a company that's been in business for at least 2-3 years so they're not just going to disappear.
Thanks
~Karl
njoker555 02-06-2010, 10:40 PM WHMCS is a billing system, don't know why you separated the two.
As for SSL, you can get one cheap nowadays - $10-$15 per year and with namecheap if you get a domain, they give you a positiveSSL for free which is a good deal.
And if you're not looking to get too much space/bandwidth, then you can get a good host for around $15-$18/month and then use another $12 to get WHMCS from licensepal or something.
Most hosts should allow you to upgrade your space and bandwidth based on your needs. And since you're starting out, don't look for a whole lot of either specs because most likely, you won't need it anyway.
I can see that you are hosted already with envisageau.net, if you have a good experience with them, maybe ask if they have a reseller account?
Their site is down from here though :-(

Down for me as well, but I saw a cached page through google, they seem to have reseller.
Indeed they do have reseller. I'm not sure what they provide though.

$20-30 a month is a realistic amount to start with.. A lot of hosts these days tend to offer WHMCS or ClientExec for the billing system, so that shouldn't be an issue either..
As for the SSL, well they're pretty cheap as it is.. Some bundle it in.. but either way you could get an SSL yourself instead too..
Did you have any preference for the location?

US is my prefered location :)
Could someone tell me if integrating WHMCS with an XHTML template is difficult or not? I've never used WHMCS before so I'm not familiar with the format.
Is it skinning, or are they simply includes (PHP)?
webnine 02-07-2010, 10:08 PM There is a lot of providers offering hosting reseller accounts. Remember to do a background check and do not believe all promises on the website.
Pinoguin 02-07-2010, 10:15 PM The reseller I'm hosted on costs about 24$ or so, if you are interested what it is you can give me a pm

If it's not your own company you can post it here I believe.
WHRKit 02-07-2010, 11:47 PM Take a look at httpme.com - I have 3 reseller accounts with them. Awesome support and definitely reliable.
Ajith Alfred 02-12-2010, 01:08 PM There are companies which are offering WHMCS free or with a reduced cost with their packages, and I believe it would be between $15 to $30, please Google it out. And you can get SSL for $15 or so.
kjawaid 02-13-2010, 06:11 AM I recommend innohosting.com
websplash 02-13-2010, 06:16 AM Search the forum - there are plenty of web hosts offering reseller hosting. I'd say 60-75% of web hosts will also throw in a client management and billing system as a bundle.
