What is the difference between them all?

Reseller can just sell cPanel accounts, Master can sell cPanel and reseller, Alpha can sell cPanel, Master and Reseller?

Greetings,
You are correct. I actually created a handy visual aid on my website https://k-disk.net/host/page/CompareResellerTypes because I used to get asked that question A LOT. Basically here is the structure, each account ia able to re-sell ANY plan below them.

Alpha Reseller
Master Reseller
Reseller(WHM)
cPanel

Ahh, thanks a lot, just thought I'd clarify that there are no other differences.

If you are planning to start at any of these level, you shud try to get some deep knowledge by trying live demos.

Greetings,
There are not too many Live Demos for this, you would need to contact sites that offer these levels of hosting to see if they can do a trial, or even 30 day money back.

Its a fairly simple learning curve. If you can handel a WHM reseller then an Alpha etc is easy enough once you setup the permissions

Greetings,
Your exactly correct. The learning curve is minimal as the tools you will be using ase cPanel and WHM. There is a 3rd tool, but that depends on host (ZamFoo/Deasoft WHMReseller or WHMPHP)

Install WHMPHP. They offer free trial and their support is 100 times better than Deason (WHMReseller)... I have un-answered ticket from October 2009!!! and the latest ticket opened about 2 weeks still un-answered. I just switched to WHMPHP and everything looks great to me. Hope this helps.

Greetings,
I would steer clear of WHMPHP for now as there are several root level vulnerabilities that have been posted on the internet. Here is one example.

NoLimitsHosting - Press Release (http://nolimitshost.info/2010/01/30/hacking-incident-3/)
ZamFoo or DeaSoft is exponentially more secure then WHMPHP as it uses WHM's secuirty system to work. WHMPHP also does not support Alpha if you choose to offer it.

ZamFoo also just released a Free version of their tool. It appears to have some features stripped that are in the paid version http://zamfoo.com/plugins. You will need to contact ZamFoo to find out what the exact limitations are of course.

Having tried all 3 personally and have studied my customers feedback, it came down to either ZamFoo or WHMreseller. We currently use WHMreseller on our servers and have had no trouble with it. Its easy to use for my clients and integrates nicely with WHM. I may consider ZamFoo on future servers since it has a few features I like.

Hi Keith...
