Lippy 11-28-2002, 03:10 PM Mine is stated the same way and I would assume its nothing important since mine has worked fine for a long time. filburt1 11-28-2002, 03:11 PM I've been getting much worse framerates since my reformatting though (albeit I went from XP to 2000) and that seemed suspicious. Acroplex 11-28-2002, 04:16 PM Using a GeForce 256 in late 2002? No, that's NOT normal :D filburt1 11-28-2002, 04:18 PM Then you can give me $450 for a Radeon 9700 Pro. Acroplex 11-28-2002, 04:19 PM You can buy the Radeon 9000 for about $120 I think. filburt1 11-28-2002, 04:21 PM The point is I used to get 70-100 FPS in Quake 3 and now I get 40 on average. I don't need a new card because I'm not buying any new games. Acroplex 11-28-2002, 04:24 PM Did you move up from Win98? In Win2000 and WinXP there is a framerate lock of 60fps I think, for resolutions that differ from that of your desktop's. You have to send a command to the QIII console. filburt1 11-28-2002, 04:25 PM No, I went from XP to 2000 because XP was acting funny and didn't like my TV tuner card drivers. Acroplex 11-28-2002, 04:27 PM Sorry to hear that. I use a Radeon 8500DV and it has an excellent TV tuner and software. Then of course, I don't watch TV :D |
