Anybody recently switch to Ubersmith DE? Not sure if this is the right forum for this question as it is more a data center thing versus a web hosting thing.

We moved to DE about 5 or 6 weeks ago. Been a good move for us so far.

What were you using before? How did you find the transition? How much did Ubersmith staff help getting you set up? Any problems during or after migration?

We were using a fairly modified form of WHMCS. But it was getting very difficult to manage the number of servers and IPs we were handling, so it was time to move to a unified system such as DE. Keeping up with all of the mods we had in place on WHMCS was becoming difficult during updates, etc.

We really didn't require much assistance with the migration as we performed most of it over a 3 to 4 week period by manually moving clients over. But any questions or assistance we did require from Ubersmith, they were very responsive and very helpful. They set everything up for us as far as the appliance and web server, we just provided them with our own instances and they set it all up. We were testing using Ubersmith Pro and they even migrated that information over to the DE setup for us.
Ubersmith's support is great, you will not have any issues there.
I will warn you, if you are not used to how Ubersmith's system operates, it will be a little difficult and cumbersome at first. You have to play around with the interface and really use it to start seeing it's real power. Even after 6 weeks, every day I find something new and helpful withe the way DE handles clients and devices. I guess the only con I have as compared to WHMCS is the order form system. WHMCS is very slick as to how theirs works, but I must say Ubersmith's has become much easier to use now that we have setup a few.

Very interesting, we are on a modded version of WHMCS as well. Our main interest is the overuse billing for 95th percentile and the integration of remote reboot control. Can I ask how much you are paying and what the up front costs were? Feel free to PM me. We are considering the move to Ubersmith DE for 6 months from now. Would love to hear any more input you have.
