Mikajo 11-28-2002, 07:36 AM Weird. We use VisualRoute for all our traceroutes around the world. Take a look at this site and enter 194.9.222.1 :
http://visualroute.visualware.co.uk/
looks fine to me.
thanks.

BiGWill 11-28-2002, 08:02 AM wow, amazing offer for european bandwidth ....
good luck :)
best regards,
Mikajo 11-28-2002, 08:08 AM Hi JMR,
$/Eur 99,00 one time fee for 512Mb total.
Thanks.
John.
Tazzman 11-28-2002, 08:15 AM Let's see here...
How much for additional transfer?
What about reboots (surely hope they don't fall under the $60 an hour)?
What about issues like FSCK?
Would be nice to have a European server.
P.S. You were offering servers in the Netherlands before at identical pricing if I'm not mistaken. Any of those left. I live in the Netherlands :)
tazzy 11-28-2002, 08:37 AM Hello,
Wicked deal :D. Hope it goes well for you.
Mikajo 11-28-2002, 08:41 AM Tazzman,
:: How much for additional transfer?
$1.50 / Gb
:: What about reboots (surely hope they don't fall under the $60 an hour)?
Manual reboots are free as long as it is not every 10 minutes :)
Soon we will also offer reboot ports.
:: What about issues like FSCK?
fsck is a tool, not an issue :)
We have to do that manually while doing the check remotely doesn't always work good. This is being charged under linux support.
Thanks.
John.
Tazzman 11-28-2002, 08:46 AM OK, fully unmanaged in other words, not really a problem. Just like to know where I stand. What about servers in the Netherlands?
Mikajo 11-28-2002, 08:57 AM :: OK, fully unmanaged in other words, not really a problem.
yeah, but for that price in Europe it has to be unmanaged...
:: Just like to know where I stand. What about servers in the Netherlands?
Our dutch network is the best we have, but is labeled with a price. Dedicated servers start at Eur 165 with 40Gb datatransfer.
I know it is not to compare with our France prices, but we have 9 bandwidth providers and we guarantee that your packages always follow the shortest route on the net.
You can ping / trace 213.196.41.144 or 81.91.1.50
We offer managed services in the Netherlands aswell as external backups etc.
Colocating price would be around Eur 265 with 1Mbit datatransfer
(fully burstable to 100mbps).
Thanks!
John.

Mikajo 11-28-2002, 09:08 AM :: Nice traceroute
tnx tazzy
:: I'm using 56k AOL connection in UK.
Wow! Those modems still exist ;)
the other network starting with ip 81. should be faster though.
thanks.
John
Tazzman 11-28-2002, 09:27 AM From NL to France, 16 ms.
From London to France: 20 ms
Very nice pings. I may be in touch in a few days time.
Mikajo 11-28-2002, 09:31 AM thank you!
our doors are open to welcome you :D
john,.
Tazzman 11-28-2002, 03:12 PM I've been thinking, do you offer colo in that datacenter in France? If so, how much per U, or for a fairly small tower? I could probably put quite a cheap server together for the specs I need. Also transfer pricing would be nice, preferable based on actual usage and not on 95th percentile.
Mikajo 11-28-2002, 03:24 PM Hi Tazzman,
We currently only offer colocating in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Prices are different and probably less attractive for you :( . Colocating prices in Amsterdam are currently:
1u, 20Gb, Eur 79
2u, 20Gb, Eur 89
2u + 1Mbit, Eur 475
thnx,
john.
Tazzman 11-28-2002, 03:32 PM Why must the Netherlands be so expensive. Darn us stingy Dutch people. We're way too greedy :D
Mikajo 11-28-2002, 04:01 PM hehe... believe me, we can be greedy aswell :)
e.g: you can always colocate in my home place, 128kbps guaranteed ;) for some symbolical fee :)
But serious, traffic is still so expensive in The Netherlands. But well, thanks god we don't have Cogent here :)
have a nice evening.
john.
