It's all about slaughtering a few million turkeys and saving the life of one for the White House :D

I don't see it either. Maybe they only allow US surfers to see it?

Yeah, because I can't see it here in Australia without making Google think I'm from the US :)

Anyway, http://www.google.com/logos/thanksgiving02.gif is the logo for those that can't see it.

Just a side note: how would you check whether the surfer is from US or not? I have all these ip ranges for all the various countries... but US isn't included cos of some reason. Would that take a huge load on the server?

Edit: Found my own answer... Google is the best :D

Hehe, I certainly hope that thing isn't what Google uses:

"YOU ARE FROM Taiwan, province of China"

(I'm actually from Sydney, Australia)

They probably have some custom solution. I meant I found that site from Goggle search. :D That script did work for me. However I think you need to run the update scripts regularly. It's possible that site haven't.

Agreed:

YOU ARE FROM Unknown

Must be all this firewall/security stuff.

re: Google. That's one happy turkey. I'm guessing he's the one they sent to the White House with a grin like that

lol that reminds me...last year before thanksgiving I went turkey hunting. and shot it with a 14 gauge from like 10 feet away. With buckshot....there was nothing left...tasted aweful.

I killed a wild turkey once.
I was cruising the interstate through western North Carolina on a lovely spring day with the sunroof open.
Suddenly, this huge turkey comes out of the woods to the left and flying low across the road -- level with the top of the car hood.
He gets caught in the slipstream and heads over the hood and windshield and across the top of the car. It was one of those moments when everything slows down and all I can think of is that in a second I'm going to have this really, really large, really really angry bird coming through the sunroof and landing on my head.
Fortunately, the airstream carried him across the top and dumped him out on the road where he was flattened by the semi behind me.
