View Full Version : K-Disk.net
Just Asking 01-31-2010, 06:50 PM After 3 months of struggling to find a decent Reseller Service I realised what an unlimited reseller account means:
Unlimited Frustration
Unlimited Anxiety
Unlimited Pain
Unlimited Sleepless Nights
OK, you get the idea...
Then I found K-disk.net
Keith gives a new meaning to the word service. For a newbie like me his advice and help is priceless and he is truly dedicated to facilitating success.
After I sent all the emails between myself and Keith to my business partner, Donna Walsh, her words were... "at last we found a professional business partner".
@Mods: my site - viphosted.com
Tristan Perry 01-31-2010, 06:55 PM Sounds great; glad to hear you are happy with K-disk :)
RSkeens 01-31-2010, 07:05 PM Could you please give more details as to their service, uptime, when you signed up, etc?
KMyers 01-31-2010, 07:35 PM Greetings,
Thank you for your kind words this early in the game. It goes a long way,
To answer RSkeens Question,
He actually signed up for his hosting plan today officially, however I have been conversing with him for almost a week to answer various questions. As far as uptime and stats, I dont think he can give an honest evaluation on that yet.
devonblzx 01-31-2010, 08:12 PM You haven't even had the plan for a full day and your all ready posting a review?
No offense to K-Disk, but I think you should definitely give it more time. I don't get the "Unlimited Sleepless Nights" line if you haven't even been with k-disk for a night yet.
semoweb 01-31-2010, 08:19 PM Im glad you found a host which can comfort you and suit your need's ive heard multiple great thing's about K-Disk..
Keep up the great work K-Disk.
Just Asking 01-31-2010, 08:38 PM @devonblzx - If you read my comments again you will realise that:
1. The "Unlimited Sleepless Nights" I had for 3 months while using various "Unlimited Disk Space and Unlimited Bandwidth" sellers who oversell their services and don`t have a clue what the hell they are doing.
I won`t post a list of these guys because I don`t participate in public bashing.
2. K-Disk doesn`t offer Unlimited Plans - well... not as far as I can see. So the "Unlimited" comments aren`t aimed at K-Disk. Therefore, I don`t see how you connect the "Unlimited Sleepless Nights" to K-Disk. It`s beyond me.
3. Not once in my comments did I mention anything about the hosting service Keith offers so this is NOT a hosting review - maybe you should read my comments again.
4. I did say that I am really impressed by Keith himself as a professional business owner who is dedicated and priceless to a newbie like myself.
So... in closing... Ask for a refund for your education because your "comprehension" sucks. LOL - Just joking - Relax.
devonblzx 01-31-2010, 08:47 PM I just don't think posting on a public forum after 1 day experience is useful to anyone, if your happy with their pre-sales then tell friends but share your experience once you have some. Once you've actually used their service, then come back and let people know how you feel. And how I connected the sleepless nights is this line obviously "Then I found K-disk.net".
For all you know, your service could go down tomorrow and you could have another sleepless night.
Just Asking 01-31-2010, 08:53 PM "For all you know, your service could go down tomorrow and you could have another sleepless night."
LOL - very true

If someone had posted on this forum 3 months ago about how good the pre-sales service was at a certain hosting service I would have jumped at giving the guy a chance.
It`s all about attitude. If you are a serious hosting business person then you do 2 things.
1. Give the absolute best service and advice to get a client.
2. Give your absolute best service and support to keep your client.
During the pre-sales period I didn`t have to wait or be told that my "support" questions would be answered within 24 hours. (Which one of the guys I researched actually did). All my questions were answered within an hour - some within minutes.
I asked some very basic questions that a complete newbie would ask and I was given the respect a valued client would expect. Questions were answered with patience and due diligence.
But YOU be the judge.
Question: Is it possible to upgrade Disk Space and Bandwidth if needed at a later stage?
Answer: Disk Space and Bandwidth can be upgraded at any time, please contact us at any time for a quote on space and bandwidth when needed.
My experience: Most hosts don`t allow this. They would prefer to sell you another package.
Question: Is it possible to upgrade to a VPS at a later stage?
Answer: It is of course possible to upgrade to a VPS when ready, we will even help with the migrations.
My experience: I can now go from Master Reseller to VPS to Dedicated Server at one hosting provider.
Question: I see that you don`t have RVSiteBuilder or Softaculous (Free Version). If I purchase RVSiteBuilder (It`s only $12 per month per server) will you install it and the free version of Softaculous? (I need this for my current clients)
Answer: We do not offer RVSiteBuilder, but will install it for you if you have a license, we currently do not have a high demand for this script, which is why it has not been installed. As far as Softaculous, we actually are running the professional (paid version) on all of our servers. The paid version has alot more scripts. I will also be performing a poll to see if we do want to start offering the full version of RVSiteBuilder in the near future.
My experience: I received answers like: We do not support 3rd party scripts - please contact the developer for more information.
Question: I need to move a few clients to your server - Does the Migration Tool in Zamfoo take care of this? Does it move everything from previous CPanel hosting so that the client doesn`t have to reinstall WP and scripts etc?
Answer: We can assist with account transfers, however the ZamFoo Migration Tool will allow you to restore cPanel Backups, this will allow you to move customer sites as well. This will create a full clone of your customers sites, so they will not need to re-install any scripts. This will also transfer all e-mails and cPanell settings.
My experience: I received answers like: please refer to documentation at the developers site http://...
Question: Does Zamfoo and ClientExec integrate to set up Reseller accounts automatically?
Answer: ZamFoo actually allows automatic provisioning from any billing software including ClientExec.
My experience: Received from LicensePal - now tell me this guy knows what he is talking about... LOL
Hello,
As far as I'm aware none of the billing systems have WHMPHP/Zamfoo modules I'm afraid, though you may want to ask them if they will develop them.

LicensePal
Question: Do you prefer WHMCS as I see that you use it for K-Disk?
Answer: I do personally prefer WHMCS however there is a higher cost to this (I have paid XXX.00 for an owned license for K-Disk). It is far less expensive to obtain WHMCS from a bulk reseller like http://licensepal.com/products/whmcs.php
There are also a few free alternitives for billing software as well. Account Lab Plus (http://www.netenberg.com/accountlabplus.php) and AgileBill (http://www.agileco.com/agilebill-open-source-billing-software.htm). I have never tried these, but do hear positive results.
Now this sounds like someone who is passionate about his business - like I am about mine.
PS. Service starts and is judged from the first place of contact - Apply that to your business and who knows... someone might be pleasantly surprised by you and post something nice about you in a public forum.
Due to the fact that I could bore you to death I will refrain from posting more examples.
Just Asking 02-01-2010, 03:52 AM I forgot about this one:
Question: I was in checkout and tried to validate the http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=921061 WHT1000 coupon but it`s not working. (I didn`t know that the coupon had expired)
Answer: Please try again, it expired, I have extended it for you.

They're not official modules so our answer is valid. Though I do apologise as I didn't realise they offered their own.

Greetings,
In your case, your answer is actually the same one given by one of the WHMCS developers a few days ago on a post on WHT (Thread (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=920855)) so it is "technically" valid. Only WHMPHP and a few proprietary Master Reseller Panels actually provide custom WHMCS Modules.
Each Master Reseller script offers a different way of allowing Master/Alpha Resellers to create accounts. I am providing you this info below in case you are asked again (best not to turn down potential clients;)), I may also make a Wiki Submission for WHT when I get a few minutes. The instructions for both will work for any billing application, not just WHMCS and Client Exec. As the Master and Alpha Reseller Trends start to grow, this information will be very helpful in the future.
Deasoft WHMReseller - WHMReseller (as of last week) now supports the automatic provisioning of Reseller accounts my master resellers. This is performed by setting up a special plan name in both WHM and your billing application. This plan name is then set in the "Auto Grant Reseller Rights" tab in WHMReseller. Please remember that plan names are in the format of "whmusername_planname". It may take up to 2 minutes to promote the reseller due to the fact that WHMReseller uses a cron to upgrade the account.
WHMPHP - Log Into your WHMPHP Admin Panel and select "WHMCS Intergration" and follow all prompts. If you are doing this from a VPS or Dedi with Root Access, the "MR Autogrant" may be a better option for you. It may take 2 minutes to promote the reseller due to the fact that WHMPHP uses a cron to upgrade the account.
ZamFoo - ZamFoo is the easiest one to use by far. Log into WHM and select the "ZamFoo : Master Reseller" plugin. Then select Add/Remove Autogrant. From this screen select the Dedicated Reseller Plans that you wish to auto-promote to resellers. When a package is created, it will automatically be given reseller access. This is done instantly because ZamFoo hooks into the WHM Account Creation System.
Just Asking 02-01-2010, 05:40 AM I would like to add that if you are a Master Reseller... and using WHMCS with WHMPHP you need to download a file from WHMPHP which gets uploaded into your WHMCS /modules/servers/whmphp folder.
I run my WHMCS on Dreamhost servers and they don`t run PHPShield which is necessary for the WHMPHP/WHMCS integration.
You first have to create an editable php.ini file in the root of your Domain - change settings and then install phpshield loaders.
More details here: http://www.whmphp.com/whmcs.php

That domain seems to still point to a Dreamhost server, so it isn't hosted by K-Disk, and least not yet.

Lol yep....
Do you happen to know if they provide end user support yet? I contacted them almost over a year ago and they said it is up but the website template has not changed yet to fix it and after 8+ months im starting to think they removed end user support

Greetings,
I believe I can answer that question. We were running a small end user support pilot last year to gauge the results. The results were positive however we quickly found out that we would need a better way to manage the system and provide a way for our resellers to see all of thie customers active tickets. We have removed this option until we can solve that problem.
Our other problem was demographics, we have approximately %30 of our customers who resell to non-english countries. So we had to make a way for the reseller to submit these tickets.
Our goal from the start was to keep the End User Support "Unbranded" and have even purchased a very generic domain name to support this. We do hope to open this program back up to our customers within the next month or so.
There would be a small cost associated with this, however the basic plan that we have put together would cover up to 35 interactions per month for $0.99.
Just Asking 02-18-2010, 11:25 PM Update
Nearly 3 weeks since my original post.
Since then I have also signed up for a VPS with K-Disk and moved some of my special clients to the server. (My principal business is not selling hosting - I just provide the service to some of my clients).
I was hesitant about the VPS at first as I don`t have experience with it but Keith`s support has been excellent.
If you are thinking about upgrading to a VPS or Dedicated Server I highly recommend that you place your trust in Keith - you won`t regret it.
