What's your budget?
Managed or Unmanaged?
How much bandwidth do you need?
Geographical preference?

Check OVH or Leaseweb:

OVH:

Intel Xeon W3520 4x 2x 2.66+ GHz
12Gb DDR3
2x 80GB SSD
1GBps 10Tb

= 95€

Whats the budget we are looking at ?? And what kind of bandwidth do you need ?? 100Mbps unmetered or just high bandwidth like 10 15TB on gig port would do ??

I dont see anything with OVH like that, all i can see is this

*: the installation costs are free for an annual payment. Otherwise: £49.99.

**: The traffic is unlimited. If you exceed 3 TB / month the connection will be limited to 10 Mbps. Optionally, a bandwidth of 100 Mbps (or 1Gbps if you have the 1G switchport option) will be allocated for the purchase of TB of additional traffic. 2 TB extra for £14.90 / month.

I don't think OVH will be very good for gameservers, but maybe i'm wrong.

Which OS do you need?

I don't think OVH will be very good for gameservers, but maybe i'm wrong.

It depends on where the players are located.
Some of our customers have few game servers and are very satisfied. Obviously the players are mainly from EU ;)

Yeah, but I assume the poster's "Sacramento" is the one in California, so the OP will not be able to buy from OVH.

Are you sure of that? OVH has a consistant 50 to 80 milliseconds higher latency on all routes compared with any random large dedicated server provider in West and Central Europe.

Where others have 5-15 milliseconds OVH consistant has 50-60 milliseconds. If i am correct latency is a important factor for gameservers.

I've no idea; still, here's a server hosted at OVH: loot.listy.li

It's a Pro range server, an SP BestOf.

I tested at

http://just-ping.com/index.php?vh=loot.listy.li&c=&s=ping!&vtt=1264955845&vhost=_&c=

The ping times from Amsterdam, Antwerp, London, and Paris were all under 10ms.

I tried another server (in the Kimsufi range), and again the ping times
from Amsterdam, Antwerp, London, and Paris were all under 10ms.

Of the 40 locations:

6 had average ping times below 10 ms (Paris, London, 3x Amsterdam, and Antwerp)
4 had average ping times from 10-20ms (Groningen, Manchester, Cologne, and Munchen)
8 had average ping times from 20-40ms (Dublin, Zurich, Padova, Stockholm, Madrid, Krakow, Oslo, and Copenhagen)

4 had average ping times from 40-80ms (Odessa, Moscow, Vilnius, and Haifa)
6 had average ping times from 80-160ms (Lille, New York, Florida, Chicago, Austin, and Santa Clara)

12 had average ping times over 160ms (San Francisco, Vancouver, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Nagano, Auckland, Shanghai, Sydney, Melbourne, Johannesburg, Singapore, and Rio de Janeiro)

OVH isn't good for game servers. They're geared more towards seedbox users and that's as much as I'm saying. Let me guess, you want a private game server don't you. I know, I used to be into all that.

OVH servers are good for game servers.
Kimsufi (cheaper range) are also good but not as good.

Ping is also depending on where you live, your net speeds and so on.

So don't forget to take that into account.
