Hi all,
I am in need of a dedicated server for a website
[ http://www.gaming-age.com ]. The site is currently fully hosted by a network, and do not have any resource or bandwidth restrictions. But, the Network is no longer hosting affiliates, so we need to find the site a home.
We rather not have to close down after 5 years.
We don't need tons of disk space (only have 6 gigs after 4 years), but we seem to use up a lot of bandwidth occasionally. It's a videogame site, so we post a lot of screenshots and the occasional movie sometimes. Supposedly the bandwidth can reach 100 - 150 GB/month or so (we would plan on somehow capping it to 50 GB/month if possible), but the sys admins at our network are a bit flaky and can't get us exact numbers. Bandwidth is an issue :(
Also, we have/had a forum that brings in over 10,000+ posts/reads a day. But that sucks up some serious resources and am willing to drop it if we have no choice.
We are only a fan site and run the site as a hobby, and can only afford what our ads and online revenue streams bring in, and that definitely isn't above $300/month right now. Willing to advertise hosting company right at very top of each and every page, or make some similar deals to keep costs down.
Our requirements...
Linux/Apache/PHP/MYSQL/Control Panel combo
512 RAM (rather upgrade from 256 to 512 w/ onetime fee)
10+ GB HD
50+ GB/month (our main issue)
10 - 20 IPs in case we need to resell to make up costs
Anyway, that's our story.
Please feel free to reply or better yet, respond to: jim@gaming-age.com
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
We need to make a decision within the next few weeks.
Thanks!
