Hola:

How can 1and1 say that rents CLOUD servers?

no high availability
no raid
no own vps images
no vps backps
no differents data centers
no nothing

only xen and slow dynamic features.

What do you think about? :confused:

not for a week.
Good performance but no cloud features.
I must say that they understand my complaint and returned all the money.

This is the way a lot of hosts are treating cloud hosting now. Cloud hosting isn't set in stone, how I feel about cloud hosting means load balancing and high availability. Although many hosts just consider cloud hosting as virtual servers with instant activation. Look into the details closer, you'll see that RackSpace's cloud servers don't feature any HA either, their cloud sites on the other hand do but start at $149.

It seems that everything depends that you mean what is cloud servers, of course. I understand as "total control" of your vps, move, resize, copy, clone, etc ... with the aim of help in your needs, such as load balancing, vps mirror (HA), geographical proximity data centers/clients , etc. ..
The ideal does not exist and Rackspace does not meet these requirements but is much closer than 1and1.:cane:
