Regards Gary Rochen 11-27-2002, 11:47 PM Off Topic: Gary, can MobernBill be integrated with Revecom? I was considering picking up a copy of MB, as it looks like a fantastic package, but I didn't think it would work with Paysystems. ChickenSteak 11-27-2002, 11:52 PM Thank you everyone, some great welcome emails but still not exactly what i'm looking for :D. Dropped the Worldpay module, and replaced it with a Revecom one that produces a handy click here to pay by Revecom button linked to the relevant product ID. We haven't put it up live yet though...some more cleaning up and testing to do but it works. Another thread perhaps, when we're finished with it. Gary  Synwave 11-29-2002, 09:26 AM Welcome to Eurofficial Internet! Your new hosting account is activated and ready to use. Please read over this entire email as it contains answers to many questions regarding use of your new account. ***Note*** If you did not register your domain name with us, please make sure it is pointing to our name servers using the following information. NS1.EUROFFICIAL.COM 64.83.110.137 NS2.EUROFFICIAL.COM 64.83.110.138 This can take up to 48 hours before this information is propagated throughout the internet, and only then can you use your account properly. ***Keep this E-Mail*** It contains your important account information. Here is your account information: Domain Name: (domainname) Username: (username) Password: (password) (*Please note that your password is case sensitive. You will use your Username and Password to enter your Control Panel and to FTP files to your site. So please keep them in a safe place). *** YOUR CONTROL PANEL *** We are pleased to offer a full-featured Control Panel. Our Control Panel makes creating and maintaining your web site simple. You can access your Control Panel by entering your username and password in the login box on our web site http://www.eurofficial.com You can also log into your control panel by going to www.(domainname)/cpanel The Control Panel allows you to do such things as manage your email accounts, manage your files, install counters, view your statistics, install FrontPage extensions, etc. *** E-MAIL *** You can check/send mail using both your Mail Client (i.e. Outlook, Eudora) -or- use our Web Based Email (like Hotmail or Yahoo mail). Note: Email will not function until your domain is registered and points to our name servers. *** SETTING UP YOUR E-MAIL PROGRAM *** There are two steps to setting up e-mail software on your computer in order to receive e-mail. We recommend using Eudora or Outlook Express. Either can be easily downloaded from the “Free Tools” section on our web site or you may have received free e-mail software from your internet access provider. When using mail software, like Eudora or Outlook, to retrieve your e-mail, use this info for the set up: POP mail account = (username)@(domainname) SMTP server = mail.(domainname) or use your local ISP's mail server. Incoming mail server = mail.(domainname) Username = accountname+(domainname) This will get you started with the first of your mailboxes, (username)@(domainname), which is already set up. * To customize your site's e-mail account and make use of all its features, simply select the option "Mail Manager" in the Control Panel. There you can set up auto responders, forwards, redirects etc. Again, your e-mail will not function correctly until domain name registration or transfer is complete. *** MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION *** 1.) Your cgi-bin has the following path /home/username/username-www/cgi-bin The URL to your cgi-bin is http://(domainname)/cgi-bin You can put your cgi scripts there. If you put in any perl scripts, make sure you have the permissions set to 775 for the perl scripts to be executable. Also, be sure that the perl path in the first line of your script is #!/usr/bin/perl. 3.) General problems to avoid * filenames are case sensitive so they must match or you will get a "file not found" error. * transfer perl scripts and text files as ASCII text * transfer gif and jpg images as image or binary file type * MAC users should transfer files as raw data * if your perl script doesn't work, the two most common reasons are that permissions are not set right 1) either on the scripts or files and directories they write to, 2) or the paths are wrong. * always load your files into the 'WWW' directory. *** DOMAIN REGISTRATION *** PLEASE NOTE IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY THAT THE REGISTRATION OF YOUR DOMAIN NAME (FOR BOTH NEW AND TRANSFER DOMAINS) HAS BEEN COMPLETED. If your domain name is registered through Network Solutions, please visit their site to make the appropriate changes to your account. If you requested to have us help transfer your domain, remember that we will only be able to assist you for names registered with Network Solutions. If your domain name is not a .com/.net/.org domain, or registered with a registry other than Network Solutions, you will have to transfer the domain yourself using our name servers listed below. If you requested to have us register your new domain name, then we will take care of the registration process for you, and your domain will be active within 72 hours ***SUPPORT*** We offer 24/7 live internet support from our web site. If you use ICQ,AIM, MSN or Yahoo Messenger you can contact us using the following information: MSN ID: info@eurofficial.com Yahoo ID: Eurofficial AIM: Eurffcl ICQ: 172633444 Thank you again for choosing Eurofficial Internet for your web hosting needs, we appreciate your business. ************************************************* Then we just use the "replace" option in microsoft word for (username) (domainname) and (password) jolly 11-29-2002, 09:58 AM Euro its good... Eric Lim 02-10-2003, 01:55 PM I would prefer to send something simple as a welcome email, not using any account information. But with an attachment in pdf file that has password protected, easy to print out as well. The password would be the password they used to purchase the service. Besides, make a php page that they can view online, something like account.php?domainname=client.com I can't get the pdf working, maybe somebody would know what to do.. TQ Mark 02-10-2003, 07:25 PM Originally posted by cyberservers I can't get the pdf working, maybe somebody would know what to do.. What isn't working about your PDF? Besides, I don't think PDF would be the best way to distribute info on using your services. Maybe your target market is for advanced webmasters, but I am sure that a large percentage of my users don't have Acrobat reader installed, and I think it is too much of a hassle to ask them to install it just to read a welcome email. |
