I just had a server come back from a datacenter cuz it needed a new mobo.
The place sent the wrong mobo and it has no place to plug in a monitor. I have a network of win2000 and XP at the office here with RJ45 jacks. How do I get into the server to see if everything is OK and working correctly? Will the server just show up with my linksys router?

try plugging it in and going to your linksys router admin page... does it show up there?

If not you'll have to install a vid card and set it up to connect to the router.

If so, did you get remote access software installed on the box?

NO? get a cheapo video card drop it on ... install your personal flavor of software and then rip the video card ... you can then remote in and do your thing.

Yeah, that's what I've been thinking. I didn't know video cards were so cheap. Now I have to wait til Friday cuz of the holiday :-(
