Hey there guys.
I'm looking for some quality software to monitor my servers...
I'm looking for something that will email me when something fails and if it would be able to show me some nice graphs about various stuff then that would be good too.
Any ideas?

nagios seems like a good one,but is a bit complicated to set up.
hyperic looks good too and is a division of vmware so is backed by a large company.

You could check out Zenoss for monitoring, and MRTG for graphing performance trends.

Nagios works pretty well for monitoring the multiple server.

We use our custom website monitoring software. We have many servers, and each server monitors all other servers. If one of servers is inaccessible from 2 or more locations, support team and admin gets SMS messages with more details

nagios is cool, but not good for graphs - mrtg is better for that.
PRTG is a nice windows solution.

nagios is obviously the "full package." If you don't need that level on Cacti has a monitoring plugin that will do basic ping monitoring. It works well.
I currently have both running, but use Cacti more.

GFI Network Server Monitor (http://www.gfi.com/nsm) would be the best option !

Nagios is what we use and it hasn't let us down so far! Definitely check them out, I personally find it the best.

Hm, nagios looks really promising. However, it might be too complex for small companies.

I've used Xymon (Hobbit) and Hyperic HQ at previous environments. Both gives good detailed graphs and good alerts.
