You can use dedicated IPs for SSL certificates, private nameservers, etc.

You just need one IP per ssl. And you can install an SSL cert without a dedicated IP one way or another but it's not recommended. You'll end up providing the cert to everyone else on the server and people can find ways to exploit that. Not recommended.

Thanks njoker555!

Also can u plz tell me merits and demerits of Shared SSL,
so i can decide which one to choose, as Dedicated SSL are
very expensive for me at this starting stage of business.

SharedSSL is cheap, available, etc.

But you'd be sharing it. The info that comes through go through just one SSL Cert from every account that's on it. Most businesses would not want this.

And Dedicated SSL isn't that expensive. You can get a RapidSSL for around $15/year or PositiveSSL for $10/year. Pretty cheap if you ask me.

Wow, thats in my budget :-)

where can i buy PositiveSSL for $10/year, plz specify some vendors.

Can you tell any vendor/company from whom i can buy in India. Can i buy it from directi.

One last Ques
-------------
What factor decides the price of a Dedicated SSL ?
I know some SSL worth more that $80 now also know as cheap as $10.

Basically what is the difference between them.

Dear njoker555!

I just had a chat with sales team of positiveSSL, they said that they provided PositiveSSL for $10/year 2 years back, Now the cost is minimum $49.

Same is the case with RapidSSL, prices are much more than before. :(

Namecheap.com has positive ssl for around $10/mo - free with a domain purchase.

And the more expensive ones usually have better encryption, possibly better recognition in more places like browsers, etc. But I'm not SSL expert so I can't give you every single advantage.

Some of rapidssl features are:

supported on 99% of browsers
site seal
7 day refund policy etc etc....

There are other things also that you should keep in mind such as mobile compatibility.

All SSL in the market regardless of the company who released it and of price provides the same level of encryption and technical protection, which means that a $10 certificate is as good as the $100 you'll get in the market. On the basic level, all they do is encrypt the data send to and from the server and make sure that the domain.com website is indeed domain.com.

They do, however, differ in browser recognition, e.g. a cheap brand of certificate may not be recognized in a particular browser which may elicit browser prompts which in turn may lose you some (non-technical) customers vs. an expensive brand of certificate which "runs" flawlessly on every browser. Likewise, the more expensive ones requires more paperworks from the website buying the certificate and does more in-depth investigation regarding the company's details, hence providing a higher level of trust for the website's customers (e.g. is ABC Company really ABC Company and do they have the proper papers to conduct business?). Also, some brand of certificates even do technical evaluation of the hardware and software set-up of the server where the certificate will be installed to make sure that the website using the certificate is of utmost security and resistant to exploits and hacking.
