Hi,
I have been trying to change my whois contact information for my domain. I see other company's have there domains registered in there company name, but my domain still shows my personal name witch I dont want. In the godaddy system when i try to input a company name and remove my personal name it does not allow me to move forward without entering my name.

Can anybody please tell me the steps i need to do this, or what im doing wrong.

Thanks you

try using "company president" or something in place of your name.

This is one of the real stupidities of the standard EPP protocol which is now used more or less universally. The "name" is compulsory, the "organisation" one is not. Which is absolutely stupid considering that the vast majority of domains are owned by companies, and it's the company rather than an individual within that company that has entered into the contract to register the domain.

Yes, the only way round it is to put something like "Managing Director" or "Company President" in the compulsory "name" field and your company's name in the optional "organisation" field. The Whois output will then probably show the domain as being registered to "Director, Managing" or "President, Company"... but who really cares. Lots of domains are registered to "Director, Managing"; if the powers-that-be wanted to be awkward about this then many of the major multinationals would lose their domains!
