We are evaluating some on-line payment solutions integrated with billing functionality for our web hosting business. It should be good enough for shared web hosting as well as dedicated server hosting and web design project billing. Should facilitate recurring and non-recurring billing cycles. Please suggest some options available with respect to their reliability, customer ease and cost-effectiveness.

Hi 24x7web,

Hope you are well. Have you looked at WHMCS - it will be recommended by a lot of users.

All the best,

Jacob

There is only WHMCS. Everything else pales in comparison.

We use WHMCS and it's great. Only wish it worked better with Paypal payments and supported multi-branding.

WHMCS is a great product, and priced competitively, you should check it out. One or two people offer a hosted WHMCS solution too.

Though WHMCS will suit you most, still have a look at http://sourceforge.net/projects/accountlabplus/

That looks interesting, have you got experience using it? What's it like?

I had used Account Lab few years back when it was new product and at that time it was promising, later on Netenberg (Fantastico guys) bought it renamed it to Account Lab Plus and made it closed source commercial product. Recently it seems they made free again.

Interesting, I guess it didn't work out for them. Fantastico is a good product I wonder if they were trying to compete with WHMCS?

For dedicated billing / management i think a lot of the big players use ubersmith, but it aint cheap.... WHMCS suits my needs well. And you can add modules to it if you want to add more functionality.

Good luck.

Ive heard of ubersmith before, just checked out their website. Looks a very impressive product, but not prices on the site so that means $$$$$ lots!

Well not necessarily. They could just want you to call/email so they have your contact details and can better close the deal. Does anybody know how much Ubersmith goes for?

A ubersmith leased monthly license with unlimited clients is $289.95/month, 500 clients is $189.95/month, 250 clients is $89.95/month or an owned license is $5000 one time...

Ubersmith Lite is $24.95/mo or and owned license is $499 one time...

Ubersmith Datacenter Enterprise (DE) has no pricing information and you need to call for a quote...
