View Full Version : I need someone to integrate paypal into a website-
Jeoworks 11-26-2002, 11:13 PM I am creating a website, and I want to hire someone who can automate an ordering system through paypal.
I want the person viewing the web page, to be able to order a CD through the web page, and have all of the information put into the webpage, then have a script do the rest. Payment should be automated through this, and my client should recieve an email confirming payment with a shipping address, so that she can send out the CD.
Please give me a quote on what this will cost to do. I can setup much of the scripts, and html if needed.
Thanks.

Unless I misunderstand what you're looking for, wouldn't a simple Paypal link for each product do the trick? When visitors click on it, they are taken into Paypal where they process payment. Your client can specify in her Paypal account profile that customers need to fill out a shipping address. Then after payment, your client would receive the order by email showing the order and the shipping address. Did you need more than that?

Jeoworks 11-27-2002, 12:10 AM They would need a paypal account than right?
I am not sure how the paypal thing works as is.
I heard something about paypal plugins. I just want people to be able to order music cd's easily. Then have the owner of the website only having to ship the CD.
Thanks.
skelley1 11-27-2002, 12:12 AM if you use paypal, they will always have to have or set up a paypal account.
First off, your client needs to have a Paypal account. Just go to www.paypal.com and register for it. It's free, it's easy, it's quick. Then set up your products in the shopping cart to get your product code. Also set up any shipping charges in Paypal. Put the code into your product pages, and you're done.
Anyone who wants to buy a CD will need a Paypal account as well.
Do you use Dreamweaver to build the site? If you do, there is a great (free) DW Paypal Extension you can download and install that makes adding products to your pages a snap. I use it when building a site where Paypal is used. It automatically builds the code for you. If you use DW, let me know and I'll give you a link to where to get the extension. Better yet, I can just email it to you.

metallic0703 11-27-2002, 12:45 AM Hello,
I would be perfect for this. I have done the exact same thing for my web site and for other web sites. An example of an order form like this is at- www.markedoffhosting.com. Look in my signature on how to contact me.

The client DOES NOT need to have an account, they can just use the single item purchases form, which allows them to pay via there credit card, without signing up for an account :)

Are you saying that if I have a product on my site with a single item purchase link, my customer does not need to have a Paypal account to make the purchase?
Vito
Hmm. You got me doubting myself there, Adam. So I gave a quick call to Paypal.
1. In order to sell a product on a site using Paypal, the site operator MUST have a Paypal account. And if he/she wants to be able to accept credit card purchases, it MUST be a Premier or Business account.
2. In order for a customer to make a purchase via Paypal, the customer MUST have a Paypal account. Regardless of whether the product is set up with a single item purchase button or a shopping cart button. If a customer clicks to buy a product and doesn't have an account, he/she will be automatically taken to a page to register for one.
The only way that 2 people can do business through the Paypal network is if both parties have an account. Otherwise, the vendor would need to go through someone like 2checkout/Worldpay/etc or have his/her own merchant account.

Jeoworks 11-27-2002, 02:54 AM Thanks alot for looking that up vito.
I would be very interested in the plugin you have.
We all know how much better DW is than anything out there :)
And my client does have an account at paypal.
Does paypal work with checking account numbers? Therefore you could typically wire transfer 17 bucks?
skelley1 11-27-2002, 02:55 AM go to your paypal account and look for 'developers' at the bottom. You will find what you are looking for. It works really nicely.
Jeoworks 11-27-2002, 02:56 AM Thanks!
