Dear all,
Our company has been using Verio as our hosting provider. Recently, because of their poor service on the mail end of the sever. We decided to find oursleves a new host.
I need your professional opinions on brand name host companies. Host experiences from Earthlink, Yahoo, or other big dogs. Sadly, my boss will not go with some companies that they probably never heard before.
Any help is appreciated.

from what i hear with several clients of mine as well as friends, yahoo is very reliable, but this all comes down to the specs that you need
i would also check out pair.com -- they have been around from a really long time (internet-wise) and have great service and tech support

I have used dellhost.com for 3 years with no major problems and only a few minor problems. Sprint owns them and Dell used to own them.
I have an email that says they will be moving their entire data center to Atlanta real soon.
If you need to check a working web site at dellhost, try www.staffsolutions.com, a mirror site for chicagojobresource.com

Check with http://uptime.netcraft.com
They "report a site's operating system, web server, and netblock owner together with, if available, a graphical view of the time since last reboot for each of the computers serving the site".
It is useful to compare several hosting providers.

Try superb.net I hear they are good and been around for years. They are a very large company, canadian-based.
I've also heard that Yahoo(Geocities) is good; though I'm still puzzled why my local TV station changed from Yahoo and Free BSD after 2 years to a Windows server at Interland.
I had one bad experience with Yahoo. They are not good at protecting copyright material. It took them forever and a big hassle to get my copyright material off of their server.
