Hello, All.
How do you deal with overage?
How do you protect from bandwidth bandits that try to fly through and use excessive amounts of bw they don't want/intend to pay for?
We actually haven't had this happen yet, but can see it as a possibility.
I was thinking of charging for overage on a daily basis, so I can catch a billing/payment problem early on.
For instance, if someone has a bw quota of 30GB and hits 30GB ten days into the monthly billing cycle, they would be charged overage each day afterwards until the end of the billing cycle..?
Our policy is to project usage and provide warnings to Gigabean family members before this happens so they may make use of less expensive upgrade prices to raise their quota, by the way :)
We also do not suspend accounts for overage and try to empower each member with plenty of overage breathing room, unless they specifically ask for things to get shut down when they hit quota. Otherwise it wouldn't be an issue.
