I have never had more than 50 accounts on a box and wondering what is a good number to put on a box with this specs. Ie how many is an average i can load it with before performance gets effected.

I was thinking around a 100 is this a good figure ?

Redhat 7.2

Celeron 1ghz

There is no answer to your question. It really depends on the makeup of accounts that will be put on this box. Are they static sites or do they use cgi/mysql extensively, etc.... Obviously you could put more static sites on a box than you can with dynamic ones.

depends on what the site runs ?

just plain html .. put around 500..

i have seen almost 2000 domains in a 1ghz box.

lot depends on what the sites take up, 4 domains could take up your whole resources, and maybe 100 of them can, it all depends really. as you start adding accounts, and factor in the space, processes and bandwidth youll figure it out in time
