I am playing around with an Ensim demo CP and have a question. In Ensim Appliance Admin CP, when I am in BIND Domain Name Server Manager, the Primary Master shows the default hostname of the server, and nothing for secondary.
So if this was an actual live box, and if I had my own nameservers, is this where I would change the Primary Master to read ns1.mynameserver.com ? Also where would I put my secondary nameserver? Into secondary or virtual? I was told that in order to use secondary you have to have an actual second server.
Thanks for your help.

Vito,
Yes. You would put the ns1 in the first one and leave the second one blank (or may be checked where it says using virtual) then you would use the ns2 under the virtual. Wait, I'll check to make sure...
OK - PRIMARY MASTER has the ns1.domain.com >>> SECONDARY has NONE using virtual DNS >>> VIRTUAL DNS has your ns2.domain.com.
:stickout:

Thanks very much. I was pretty sure that's how it was, but I had to make sure. I'm just working on Ensim Appliance Admin tutorials and I always (obviously) have to ensure accuracy of my information.
Geez, it sure is tough trying to learn an entire cp in a short period of time. And Ensim isn't exactly one of the easier ones out there...
Thanks for your help. I appreciate it. :)

I understand. Hurry up and get the ENSIM done:D
I'm dancin' as fast as I can! Unfortunately, there are only 24 hours in a day. :(
The Site Admins are already done, I'm just working on Appliance Admin. And to boot, my contact at Ensim suggested to me last week that there should be a Linux version as well as a Windows version for Appliance Admin and Site Admin??
Oh well. I guess I can always catch up on sleep sometime in 2003...

OK, I just need a bit more clarification, please.
When in BIND Domain Name Server Manager, I click to edit Virtual DNS. I then select Virtual DNS and put in ns2.mynameserver.com. But in IP address, the documentation says to put in the IP address of the primary nameserver, since it's being mapped to that server. But I always thought they were different IP addresses.
Eg:
ns1.mynameserver.com : 123.123.12.11
ns2.mynameserver.com : 123.123.12.12
So I'm a littled confused...
